Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thumbnail: the SGC sends a team led by a jerk of a Colonel, who was a friend of Sumner's and therefore dislikes Shep. They put nuclear warheads into space as mines, to buy time until the Dedalus arrives in 4 days with a ZPM to power the city's defenses.

The Wraith detect and blow up all the mines. Oooops. Waves of darts, strafing, blah blah lots of fighting all over the city. Nice CGI, though.

Elizabeth cuts a deal with the Genii to get one of their nukes to send to the hive ship in a jumper on auto-pilot. They get the nuke, but the auto-pilot doesn't work.

The last few scenes have the city defenses crumbling, Wraith everywhere, and Sheppard piloting a jumper with the Genii nuke inside, heading for the Wraith. He's gonna blow the hive ship. His last words before "to be continued" are: "if this works, somebody's gonna have to do it again..."

That's a very brief overview. It's actually quite good, aside from the cliffhanger part.

Art Crawl!!!

OOh, Bear McCreary has some sound files up on his site!

Including something from the finale and that Irish sounding song from "The Hand of God".

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Thanks, 'suela. I did see that. I just blanked out the part where it wasn't continued this past week, rather than next season.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

So didn't any Buffistas watch Carnivále?

Art Crawl!!!

I emailed Bear McCreary from his website and he replied:

Thanks for the note! Yes, the Season 1 soundtrack album out will be out in late May or early June. Keep an eye out on my website for details, or go to the record label's site. It will be available there even before it hits stores: www.lalalandrecords.com

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yep, been there, drunk the absinthe, snarked about Ben Hawkins' Pigpen-esque qualities.

So didn't any Buffistas watch Carnivále?

Yo.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Yup. I have yet to watch any of S2, but I have tapes, oh yes I do, thanks to my wonderful tape fairy.

Appropos of nothing, I just watched last Thursday's Tru Calling "season premiere." I'm not saying this show was amazing, and I wasn't crying when it got cancelled, but it was lots better than awful. Faith spinoff chances aside, I wish they were making more of these.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Yeah, I'm really behind on Season 2 Carnivale. Only about halfway through the season.

Glad I have it on tape, too, so I can look for a certain friend of mine among the background artists.
