The news has hit the general public so I guess I can pass it on. From the CHUM Television press release:
Blood Ties is based on Tanya Huff’s internationally popular “Blood” novels. When her latest love interest turns out to be a 450-year-old vampire and the caseload of her fledgling P.I. agency shifts from fraud artists and cheating spouses to battles with ghosts, ghouls, zombies and demons, ex-police detective Vicki Nelson realizes that her life will never be the same. The series will be produced by Kaleidoscope Entertainment and goes into production later this summer.
No word on casting as yet although they need a Canadian lead. Primary filming to be done in Vancouver because they have the soundstage space available with 2nd unit work done in Toronto. The head writer is Peter Mohan who has worked on Due South, Eerie Indiana, Relic Hunter, La Femme Nikita, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Top Cops and Highlander among other shows. I've seen three scripts and I love what he's done with the show; I wish I'd thought of a couple of the changes he's made!
Best news is that there's a good chance I can write an episode.
Roswell alums cast in pilots:
ULTRA (CBS) - Aimee Garcia (Veronica Palmero on "The George Lopez Show") and Majandra Delfino (Maria DeLuca on "Roswell") have both booked roles in the drama pilot, about a single, city-girl superhero (Lena Headey). They'll play Kyra and Suzette respectively in the CBS Paramount Network Television-based hour, which Helen Shaver is directing from a script by Barbara Hall. Richard Coyle and Peter Dinklage also star while David Alpert and David Engel also serve as co-executive producers.
THE WAY (CBS) - Jason Behr (Max Evans on "Roswell") and Peter Strauss ("xXx: State of the Union") are the latest to sign on to the drama pilot, about a powerful New England family that uses witchcraft to further its business enterprises. Behr will play the show's male lead, one of the family's children who is at the center of a sibling power rivalry, while Strauss is set as a longtime close family friend. They join the previously cast Julia Ormond, Will Patton and Riley Smith in the Sony Pictures Television-based hour, which Rod Holcomb is directing from a script by creator Adam Kulakow. Michael De Luca also serves as an executive producer.

Which makes the setting for her newer novels that much more entertaining -- they're light horror novels on the set of a bad syndicated vampire show.
