Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
This episode was poorly written and the characters ill-used. and the guest star was wasted. I am not happy with this episode.
Boy, if that's the way everyone feels, I'm out of the loop two weeks in a row--I loved last week's ep to pieces, and I'm looking forward to rewatching this one as soon as possible. Then again, I'm a recent convert to the show (only started watching with Resurrection Ship, and got caught up with Season Two through watching a tape of the marathon from before Christmas).
Interesting--I was just listening to the podcast, and RM seems to be rather "meh" about the ep as a whole. He doesn't dislike it as much as he hated Black Market, but he thought it missed the high mark he expects from the show.
As for Billy, the guy who plays him has been getting offers for both feature films and leads in new series, so they mutually agreed it was time to let him go and further his career.
One of the WXers has posted about how much he enjoyed this episode.
I think that the show seems weaker when it gets away from the main conflict.
Or possibly, it's just that they are in that mid-season slump when all the writers are tired.
(Ellen Tigh is either just extremely gifted in her cluelessness or a cylon. . . can't decide which . . . I'm re-watching.)
If they make Ellen a Cylon it's just going to be too "on the nose." They've been pointing at it for way too long, and just doing way to much to set it up that way.
Bummer to see Billy eat it.
Wasn't Billy the top vote getter in a poll of "who is a cylon?" Oh well.
Haven't seen BSG yet. Guess I blew the HSQ by reading too soon. Ooops.
Have watched SG1 this morning. Gotta say I agree with Cam that it was indeed a good day. Loved the Teal'c and Cam stuff at the end. So much to like about the episode. Good solid storytelling with the General's manipulations and abundant action. Woo! Twas satisfying entertainment.
On to SGA...
Well, Billy could still have been a Cylon, but he would be all dead and everything. The other Billys wouldn't have his memories.
sumi, that's true. but with the actor wanting to pursue other things, I'm thinking that might not be likely.
I stumbled across a BSG casting spoiler (honest! it was in the entertainment section of my newspaper) for later this season and a major number of episodes next year that is making me happy. Not fall-over-dead-of-joy happy, which would be the case if a certain favorite actor of mine was involved, but happy indeed.
