Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Actually, they said in the commentary that it's a glare issue. The glass reflects into the camera when they're worn normally.

That is weird -- don't glasses come with glare-protection treatment on the lenses? I guess I've only seen glasses-glare used intentionally on TV, back in the days of The X-Files. They'd put a light source just so that Scully seemed to be wearing blue discs on her face.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I sometimes notice that actors who wear glasses are wearing glasses with perfectly flat lenses. Which might make sense if the actor already has good vision. But the downside of having a flat lense is that it will sometimes reflect a light directly into a camera. (If the lense was curved, it would often be reflecting lights into the camera, but the reflected light would be spread out, so the reflection would be pretty insignificant.) If that makes any sense.

If I could tackle him through my TV and fix them, I would.

ITA. Although, if I could tackle him through the TV, the glasses probably wouldn't be the first thing I'd do. Mreow.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I am looking forward to the starbuck episode - but I think it is because I like her character more.

Oh, I get it. So only people who don't need glasses but are wearing them for the character have this problem. Considering how many wicked blind people there are in the world (and Hollywood), this problem just must not come up that often.

If I only had a brain...

Yeah, but I think wicked blind people have their own problems -- not wearing glasses because the character wouldn't, and having to fight squints or bump into things.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yeah, but I think wicked blind people have their own problems -- not wearing glasses because the character wouldn't, and having to fight squints or bump into things.

That's why blooper reels were invented.

And contact lenses. Although why Daniel Jackson doesn't wear contacts or get laser surgery has never been explained adequately. What other use does he have for his money, after all?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Daniel did eventually get contacts, though it took him too long. Maybe he just didn't like them. I always did wonder why he never got lasik. He's often in situations where it would be really really bad to get some dirt under your contact lens or lose your glasses and not be able to see. I'm scared of lasik, but I've thought of doing it just to make camping easier.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I just wish I had access to the alien technology that has protected his glasses through so many traumatic events. They are way sturdier than any pair I've ever owned, not to mention apparently unloseable.
