Well, a happy Sci-fi Friday for my inner moppet. We get some Martouf action, and Roslin lives.
Heh. I saw your post earlier this evening and thought, "In a few hours one of us will be happy and one of us will be bummed." I figured it would be me that'd be bummed. You win this time... [retreats to secret lair]
ION, I'm bummed. The memory of Baltar with Six lessens it a little, and when Gina opened the case and jumped back I started laughing in realization, but... meh. I'm kind of meh about the episode even apart from that. I like that they're all flawed and sometimes crazy, but this week everyone seemed not just flawed, but actively dopey. Even Cottle. "The blood of this unprecedented hybrid seems... unusual. This is alarming and not at all something we should kind of expect!"
I would have been happy even if the Angel Moroni appeared, laid down his gold plates, and laid hands on Roslin to heal her.
I am happy that Roslin was cured when and how she was, because there will be massive fallout, oh yes there will.
ION, I have started watching the Dr. Who eps sent by dear tiggy, and I am enjoying myself immensely.
I already posted over in Tape, but is there anyone out there who can hook me up with last night's BSG? My Tivo taped
Book of Daniel
instead of BSG - I am so disappointed.

Strega is me. This is the first ep I can think of that's actively disappointed me.
Maybe because I was getting to like "sort-of-has-some-of-his-shit-together" Baltar, and now we're back to fondling Invisi!Six in the Galactica hallways? It seems like a step backwards, and I'm not sure why we took it.
(And I take it the SG-1 was better for people who aren't new to the show this year? 'Cause I liked it, but reading the comments makes me think I didn't actually get it.)
My overall impression of SGA is that they ran out of money for location shoots, and needed an episode that didn't leave Atlantis.
I
loved
SG1. And as a Jack/Sam shipper, I couldn't shake a suspicion alternaSams (at least some of them) were with Pete. Because that's way funnier.
SGA? I hope they don't kill Skinner. They can feel free to kill Teyla, though.
I totally agree with Jessica on Baltar. I can't imagine that if the VP were running around looking
that
nuts, that something wouldn't come of it. It's caricaturish and uninvolving.
Had to skim the BSG stuff -- I got home at 11 and watched only SG stuff before crashing.
I loved SG-1: so fun! Continuity-gasms galore, and Janet! And Martouf! And all the Sams! Sneaky plot twist by the 2nd SG-1, which was kinda cool, although even so Our Heroes had to outthink them.
I did have a thought, though: did the Black-wearing SG-1 know they'd cause this thing with all the other teams? Did they have a plan for getting back after they stole the ZPM? How did they expect to get the ZPM? But really, how did they expect to get back?
I also wanted, when Daniel saw Janet, for him to lurch forward and hug her -- because dude, you saw her DIE! Show some emotion! Leave the stoic to Teal'c, we know you don't have that.
SGA, on the other hand, made my eyes bleed. God, that was terrible. Also? It reminded me a great deal of Tafkar's Peg Ba'al story, and Martha Wilson's AU where Elizabeth is a Goa'uld. Those were both far better than this one. Bleah.
WTF was with that DRESS?
t flails hands in dismay
Daniel's farewell hug to Janet was a thing of delicate beauty. And I loved all the reaction shots in this ep. Unlike last week's SGA, where they just felt like filler.
Oh, and Gateworld as a bunch of deleted scenes up, including a simply fabulous one with one of the Daniels. It made me squee that they'd thought of it.

I've forgotten last week's SGA. Honestly: I have no idea.
