Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Quite possibly my favorite single item from LIFE IN HELL ever.

Yeah, I think it's my fave too.

"At night, the ice weasels come," is one of the greatest sentences ever in Western literature.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"At night, the ice weasels come," is one of the greatest sentences ever in Western literature.

It's just about perfect. The first Life In Hell that cut close to the bone was the chart with the different types of girlfriends including their positives and negatives. Like..."Crazy Art Girl: positives include, fucks like a crazed weasel, artfully wrapped birthday presents. Negatives include tendency to drive over cliffs."

Is the Crazy Art Girl the one that says, "This interpretive dance expresses how I feel about our relationship"?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

As great as WORK IS HELL and SCHOOL IS HELL are (and I think all the subsequent books are distinctly lesser), I definitely think LOVE IS HELL is my favorite series.

Is the Crazy Art Girl the one that says, "This interpretive dance expresses how I feel about our relationship"?

Yep. Hee.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

A really lovely BSG ficlet, in response to common people challenge. I adore Rheanna.

ETA: Oops. Heh. Link fixed, as Dana saw through my nefarious plan, damnit.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I second the rec, but note that Vonnie included the wrong link. Unless it's all part of her stealth plan to make everyone watch Veronica Mars.

Edit: And Vonnie has editing skills like lightning!

If I only had a brain...

Does anybody else think Farscape (as of early S3) is incredibly heteronormative? There's not even the whisper of vibrations between same-sex couples; Chiana never makes a pass at Aeryn, just John and D'Argo. Even putting on my heavy-duty slash-colored goggles, I can't see enough tension between D'Argo and John to make it worthwhile. And we've never (early S3) seen any supporting characters who are anything other than heterosexual or aliensexual.

What up?

Waits for Betsy to get to "Scratch and Sniff"...

Huh. When I started watching, I very nearly asked shrift if everyone on the show was sleeping with each other. So...no.

I think everybody would draw the line at Rygel, and probably Pilot.
