A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Then there was the VisionU where Daniel became a megalomaniac, betrayed all of his friends, and blew up Moscow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

About misogyny - does no one ever throw an insult that doesn't reflect their prejudices? I'm certainly not above going through other people's rubbish to put someone down.

All is well that ends in pizza.

During the Holiday season, there was a "Dead Ringer's Christmas Special" which featured a short sketch called "Christmas at Doctor Who's".

Unfortunately I had to ahem the whole bloody thing to see the one sketch (and the openeing credits). I have therefore taught myself how to use Windows Movie Maker to edit it down to the Opening theme music and the Dr Who sketch, and uploaded it here: [link] (approximately 14 MB)

Not really spoilery for the New Who, but you never can tell.

I may find another free host.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Richard Benjamin (Love at First Bite, Goodbye, Columbus) played Captain Quark, of an intergalactic garbage scow, with a madcap crew of wacky individuals. And clones. "She is. No, SHE is."

I think I'd somehow seen DARK STAR right around the same time, so I just ate it up.

It didn't really live up to my memory of it.

That was my big fear - I had a feeling it's something I embraced when young that wouldn't hold up if I saw it now. I've had the DVD of DARK STAR for eons, but haven't quite worked up the courage to see if that still holds up.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I've had the DVD of DARK STAR for eons, but haven't quite worked up the courage to see if that still holds up.

Yeah, the killer beachball might be too much. I've got a VHS of it around somewhere, but I haven't been inclined to rewatch. Still, the humor is much darker than Quark, so it probably fares better.

Yeah, the killer beachball might be too much.

Actually, I think that might still hold up. Even at the time, I knew that was beyond the pale low-budget, in an endearing way. Plus, most expressive claws evah!

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Good times, good times.

Well, I suppose one can also carefully design one's insults to cause impact, though Rodney doesn't strike me as the type.

Don't credit me with careful design. It's just that if I want to hurt someone the insultt's more about them than me.

As for McKay, when you feel better than everyone, it's really easy to seem specifically offensive when it's really a broad spectrum thing.

Hell, I thought my father was sexist for years.

Uh, not that he was offensive. But, still.

So. Krull - thumbs up or thumbs down? Need something on in the background for a couple of hours...

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

If it's just in the background, it won't do much damage
