A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Buffy has Issues. Also, people who get involved with Buffy have horrible things happen to them. Angel got shoved into a hell dimension. Spike got incinerated. Riley wound up married to Mary Sue. Shudder.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Stargate SG-1 casting spoiler. No, a new one.

Having never seen Avengers, I have no opinion on Emma Peel. (Sorry.)

Poor ol' Buffy. But, yeah.

Re: the casting spoiler: Well, yay. But also, sniff. It'll be nice to see him, though. Interesting that it's in eps with no AT .

If I only had a brain...

Hmm. So we flip it:

F,C,M: Wash, Angel, Steed?

If I only had a brain...

No contest. F Steed, C Angel (I mean, really. I have more than enough issues for any couple), M Wash and the dinosaurs.

M Wash! Either way on the other two. (cheater)

There is considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists.

The Caprica scenes were really good. I liked some of the stuff with the fleet, but surely everyone has noticed that Baltar is insane by now?!!?

Yeah, that was seriously bugging me this episode. I can see why they don't lock him up and throw away the key, they have so few resources. But I already found it a serious strain to disbelief that they were allowing him to be the single failure point for finding Cylons (out of 50K people, NO ONE else is a lab tech capable of running DNA tests?), and now suddenly Roslin is arranging him to be VP?

I think part of the problem is that other people aren't acting as crazy as they should be. Each of these people is a one out of half-million people survivor; they have seen their entire would annhiliated, they are being driven into the endless dark with only a small chance of finding a refuge somewhere. Yet they generally act as traumatized as if they'd merely been ejected from a cocktail party. The newscasters this episode were particularly grating; you have two reporters and a broadcaster who in the last handful of survivors of their entire profession and all of the speak with the cheery fake hostility of a talk show host on Fox?

It's part of why the Capricia storyline is the only one I'm interested in; Helo and Boomer have real despair and desperate endurance.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

C Angel. F Steed (and also banter with him wittily). M Wash and live happily ever after.

Even Emma didn't M Steed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Mix that one up a little -- I'd certainly C Angel, always would have. But if you threw Wesley in instead ... or god forbid, Gunn, then I'd be conflicted.
