I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

woohoo! Punk Maneuverability, writer extraordinaire.

Also, shalott's flashfic challenge response is a thing of beauty. It's beyond a thing of beauty.

If I only had a brain...

Shalott's thing is major AU based on Sheppard (Shepherd?) being cashiered, right?

Thrown out of the Service. And shalott's thing seems to imply that Sheprd got into SGA because Rodney ordered him, and I thought he was assigned there.

Punk Maneuverability, writer extraordinaire.

Huh. I don't recognize that one, and, really, mostly the names I know are because you all have recced them (or, you know, are them). I must have skipped... something. Dammit.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Wait. Is Punk the same person as rageprofrock? I'm confused.

Jen, Punk is a wonderful, wonderful writer who was one of the first I read in X-Files fandom all those years ago. Man, I loved her stuff. Escape Speed. The stuff she wrote with Sabine as V. Salmone. And Wabash, Faraway has the distinction of being the first slash story I ever read.

No, wait a minute. It was actually Hal's Violence and Subtext of Homoerotic Desire Or Beat Me, Daddy. I totally blame her for my thinking all slash was parody for the longest time.

Anyway, Pru then went on to write brilliant stories in The West Wing fandom, then got her brains eaten by the Gay in Smallville. I'm not surprised that she finally succumbed to SGA, which is turning into some kind of slash vortex.

Oh, and while I'm at it: Punk's fanfic.

No. Punk is a better writer, IMO.

Oh, OK - I haven't read much in the fandoms she's written. Yet. Except some Sports Night. But not hers.

Thanks for the link...

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Betsy, it's a major AU on many counts. Written for a Harlequin challenge.

Punk is both a significantly better writer and not prone to posting WiPs she never finishes, which are two points in her favor.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Did Punk actually write a SGA story, or is she just getting into the show now?

ETA: Nevermind. There's a link on her webpage to her LJ--looks like she's just started to watch. Fic can't be too far behind.
