Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Yup. I saw the promos last night. I just can't remember shitwhich network and what the start date is.
Oh, I saw a promo for that show. I cannot think of it without appending, "I do not think it means what you think it means," of course. But I didn't notice it was Crashdown. Good for him!
Okay, its on NBC in the BSG timeslot -- first episode airs September 23rd.
I'm guessing that he's not a regular? (Because he wasn't mentioned in any of the Zap2it stuff about the show.)
No, I don't think so. It's a medical show about infertile couples, or people, actually. And from what I saw, he's a client. Wife killed in Iraq, somehow he's hoping the clinic can produce their child.
Although they managed to out-gay the previous two episodes, which had a) an actual same-sex kiss, and b) the whole team in bondage.
nods
It's awe-inspiring, really.
(So it was the first boy/boy snog on SF telly? Wow. How did it take reality so very long to catch up with fandom?)
Depends on your definition of "snog"--there was a male/male kiss in Doctor Who a few months beforehand.
That's right! And no body possession, either. Man, that was a lovely scene.
Somebody feel like giving me an overview of the Boomer-is-a-Cylon thing? How many boomers are there? Has she always known she was a Cylon? Why didn't anybody notice the light-up spine?
Why didn't anybody notice the light-up spine?
That, you're just going to have to hand wave. It was an (admitted by the creators) lame thing to do.
Gallactica!Boomer didn't realize she was a Cylon. But she started having suspicions when she started having blackouts and finding herself in the possession of missing explosives and such. But she was still kind of confused. She had Baltar do a Cylon test on her. He lied and told her she was not a Cylon. Oh, der, forgot that part - see Fay's post re: blowing up the multi-Sharons on the Cylon ship. Then she tried to kill Adama, and, well, I guess her programming or whatever stopped trying to fool her. That's how I saw it, anyway.
Caprica!Boomer knew she was a Cylon all along. But she fell in lurve (or, her programming is telling her so. Whatever.) and got pregnant (maybe not in that order), and so she's all about protecting her baby and convincing Helo that she loves him now. She turned on her Cylon buddies on Caprica. And she saved the asses of the resistance people, Starbuck, and Helo on Caprica. So.
That's my version in a nutshell.
