Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Apparently that was Legends of the Fall, and it had Julia Ormond in it, not Madeleine Stowe.

Thrive to spite them

Oh God, now I have visions that I accidentally gave him Legends of the Fall. but River Runs Through It had fishing on the front.

I love Dad because he's my Dad, but I don't like him a lot of the times. He's very conservative and bigoted and he's pissed off both my brother and I with various remarks he's made in public.

I never thought he'd like Farscape, but he does, and watching dvds is one of the few things that we can do together that doesn't turn weird. When I move I still want us to have time that we can spend together. So I'm very cautious about what dvds we end up watching.

If I only had a brain...

There's whoring in "A Human Reaction". And why, yes, I do watch it over and over.

Electromagnetic candy! - Stark

Crais in heels. Yes, some of us love that episode because really, Lani should live on My Side of the Fence.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

I gave my son the choice of my taped SG-1 or Mansquito and he chose Mansquito. Drinking now.

"Hey... Mansquito!" I couldn't believe he actually said it. I so couldn't believe it I've been playing that clip all day today on the radio.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Muppet sex I could handle -- they are muppets. But S&M gear I can't watch with dad. It squicks me out too bad.

Well, it is supposed to be read as an indication that Things Are Very Wrong. But I can see how you wouldn't want to go there. Really, it's not Rygel-in-bondage that freaks me out in that episode, but the discussion of Oedipus in Dr. Zhaan's office with Leslie Crichton. Ewwww!

Our wings are not tired.

Ya know, you have to give a show extra points when it makes Buffistas twitch.

I feel like such an old fogy when I gush about the joy that is DVD's. So many worthwhile shows that are available for my viewing pleasure at my convenience. I almost never caught Farscape live due to life issues. The download option gave me the opportunity to watch the whole series, but DVD's much prettier.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Anyone who owns the Due South dvds can contradict me, because I speak only from secondhand. But everyone who's bought them complains that they're badly packaged, with no extras, and expensive, unless you buy them from our neighbors to the north.

That's what I keep hearing. I really want to get the third season, but jeez. Someone was going to send me tapes at one point, but that fell through so I've been hoping to go the DVD route. Have to wait a while longer I guess to see more than the two or three eps I've seen from the CKR era.

If I only had a brain...

I'm trying to suss out names on Farscape; I can't figure the pattern.

Ka D'Argo -- always D'Argo, never Ka.
Aeryn Sun -- Aeryn to her friends, "Officer Sun" to Pilot, who is polite, and to Peacekeepers, who aren't.
John Crichton -- Crichton to everybody
Chiana, Rygel, Zhaan -- one name, avoid the issue entirely.

I could write this all off to alien customs except that Crichton presumably goes by John all the time at home.

Comments?

Actually, D'Argo starts to refer to Crichton as John quite a bit. So does Scorpy, now that I think about it.
