A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Yes, yes! I'm loving the whole Scottish and Czech flavoured accentage. 'Specially from Canadians!
I have to say, my increased enjoyment is due to having changed my expectations as much as anything. If I compare it to
Firefly
or
Battlestar Galactica,
the sillyness is jarring. But if I think about
Smallville,
and just sit back and enjoy the silly, and the slash, and don't worry about handwaving or, you know, narrative integrity etc...it's a lot of fun. I mean, yes, I looked at the wee village of people who should all be the same racial type, and yet who look like a random handful of racially diverse North Americans.
But I don't mind any more.
Because that's the kind of show it is. And that's okay.
And, wow, Rodney is
so
pissy about John having pulled a High Priestess. Bless him.
These guys really don't give any kind of flying fornication about any kind of Prime Directive deal, do they?
(...also, my Atlantis patch arrived in the post the other day. Now I need to find a canvas bag or a jacket or something it can live on.)
eta
Oh my GOD, McKay is SO totally jealous about this chick! It's like Clexian levels of slashiness, almost. Bless!
I still think they should have tricked the Wraith into thinking they'd moved the Earth-accessible stargate to that planet from "Sanctuary." Let Chaya deal with a dozen hive ships strafing her little Garden of Eden.
"Oh my God, he
is
Kirk."
I. Love. This.
And especially Rodney. I really,
really
love Rodney. Who has no possible reason for being so pissy about this girl, when he
wasn't
all pissy about Teyla's people, or about any other aliens they've met. But no other aliens have been making goo goo eyes at John.
But I don't mind any more. Because that's the kind of show it is. And that's okay.
It was Ces who said something about SGA being a "lube and balloons" fandom, and I have come to agree with her wholeheartedly.

Yep, now I am going to start watching again. I tried to watch it seriously and that just didn't work. But fun and slashing? I'm there.
Now watching Wrinkly!Timetravelling!Elizabeth episode.
Rodney and John
are
Mr and Mrs Bickerson. Bless them.
Rodney and John are Mr and Mrs Bickerson. Bless them.
They are awfully cute in "Before I Sleep." There's poor old Elizabeth trying to tell her crucially important story, and John and Rodney can't stop pulling on each other's pigtails long enough to actually listen.
And especially Rodney. I really, really love Rodney.
I hope the writers can rewatch the eps you are watching. Rodney in S2 has been turning into Xander, and it's
not right.
Oh well, it's only three weeks in, perhaps they have already shot the writers of the first three.
...turning into Xander?
Huh.
Well, I
like
Xander. But Rodney really isn't Xander at all. Rodney's more like a Wesley/Warren hybrid.
Meanwhile, I'm watching episode 3 of
House.
Still so strange watching Hugh Laurie being American. Bless him.
