'Lineage'

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Well, the fate of the race can rest on evil people too. They just have different wishlists.

Now look like the fate of the entire human race is resting on your shoulders!

If someone told me to look like that, I'm afraid it'd register more like stunned surprise, disbelief, and sympathy for all ya'll. Probably with a sad, what can you do? shrug. This is why I don't play a hero on TV. One of the reasons.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Dear God. Six really does have THE most horrendous of all possible selections of dresses. Awful. Awful awful awful.

I don't know, I might find the woman attractive if she was in a nice roll-neck sweater and some smart trousers, maybe. Or, you know, not actively off-putting. Really, though, I don't get the whole she's sexy thing at all.

Roslin, hell yeah. Apollo - gah. Starbuck, yes, and Boomer, and Gaius, all good. But Six? SO not sexy to me.

I realise that I maybe sound like I'm being a bit 'oh, she's so obvious, only shallow people fancy the skinny blonde model-types', but I don't think that's what I'm doing. I mean, I see the sex appeal with Kate Moss. I fancy Portia DiRossi (sp?). I can fancy model-looking people. But I so don't get it with Six. (Although I rather enjoyed the Boomer/Six picture just on the basis of teh gay and despite not lusting after Six.)

Mememe. Anyway - Roslin/Apollo. Such a sexy notion, that. Yay for them.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

What, you have a problem with a tall, skinny, blonde, buttfloss-wearing robot sex-toy villain-vixen with a worship complex, whose persuasive skillset seems to coincide with her blowjob skillset? Who are you, Betty Freidan or something??

I saw that woman -- don't know her name -- on some sports "top ten" list show. She seemed like a reasonably sober, coherent, and informed opinion-holder (which is more than can be said for some on those shows). Surely she can get a job where she doesn't have to pant all her lines. Also, I would vote her some comfortable shoes.

I so agree with that. And there's chemistry there, too.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's been argued that the Cylon plot all along called for Baltar to be seduced in order to get access to the defense computers, so it makes sense that Six would be ultra-sexy.

You could also argue that the creators and writers need a good week at the Michigan Womyns Festival, or to be ritually beaten with wet spaghetti, or to be stuffed into 3-inch heels and made to walk ten miles.

You can argue a lot of things.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I love Six. So there.

I love Six too. She has a mix of sex and menace I find very appealing. She could snap Baltar like a twig, and he likes it.

I guess it comes down to the question of, is she there just to provide titillation for the audience, or does her presence make some narrative sense. Sometimes I like her, sometimes she annoys me, but I think she fits in the series - unlike the completely gratuitous "decontamination gel" scene in Enterprise, which made me never watch that show again.
