I was sitting there when Lana was talking to Clark saying, "Go on, get in the truck! One meteor can take out you and Jonathan and make me actually look forward to Season 5! OK, I'll miss Martha, but that's why they call it a tragedy." To the considerable amusement of Amyth.

And then the show went all Zombie!Jason and Unkillable!Lana. I can only hope an Alien-style alien comes out of the ship and eats her.

Lex is getting very unstable and tired of being jerked around (plus all those concusions are getting old, I expect). I can't really blame him.

If only this weren't scheduled up against The OC and Alias next year. I'd love to see more of the further evilment of Lex.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but much like last week it spawned moments of inappopriate laughter for me. Such as army guy getting thrown in the air by crashing meteor. It just looked silly. (Though not as silly as the Lana getting thrown by an obviously blue-screened explosion that, instead of burning the footage, they decided to put in the opening credits.) Also, the countdown clock with "dramatic music" made me want to roll my eyes for ever. And I'm not normally an eye-roller.

Not really liking Lex's "Okay, fine, I'm evil now." bit. I mean, I realize they were hinting at it the previous weeks, but there was no real catalyst to point at.

Nah, I think Lionel's influence is pretty ingrained, and it would take a lot more than Clark saying, "Yeah, I'm an alien. Sorry 'bout the really lousy attempts at lying," to get past that. Clark being honest, plus fewer homocidal love/lust interests, plus not being trapped in a mental institution and drugged/tortured, plus a couple of decades of serious therapy might do the trick.

I'd love to see more of the further evilment of Lex.

Me, too. I've sort of lost the OC love, so I might tape Season 5. Especially if it turns out that Jonathan did get squished.

Yep. I was thinking "unhinged" more than "stupid", but yeah.

I was thinking the meteors were pretty catalytic. What with the initial wee-Lex trauma and all that. But I could have been fanwanking--I don't remember seeing anything suggesting that on the tv.

The meteors make sense, although, I agree that the show didn't attempt to connect those things.
