Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

So, you think that if only Clark would be honest with him, he'd never go evil?

Nah, I think Lionel's influence is pretty ingrained, and it would take a lot more than Clark saying, "Yeah, I'm an alien. Sorry 'bout the really lousy attempts at lying," to get past that. Clark being honest, plus fewer homocidal love/lust interests, plus not being trapped in a mental institution and drugged/tortured, plus a couple of decades of serious therapy might do the trick.

I'd love to see more of the further evilment of Lex.

Me, too. I've sort of lost the OC love, so I might tape Season 5. Especially if it turns out that Jonathan did get squished.

You know, if I'm in a helicopter that crashes in a meteor shower and break my leg, the last thing I'm going to try to do is drag myself uphill so I can look into one of the craters. That whole time I'm sitting going "This is really stupid"

Yep. I was thinking "unhinged" more than "stupid", but yeah.

but there was no real catalyst to point at.

I was thinking the meteors were pretty catalytic. What with the initial wee-Lex trauma and all that. But I could have been fanwanking--I don't remember seeing anything suggesting that on the tv.

Art Crawl!!!

The meteors make sense, although, I agree that the show didn't attempt to connect those things.

And porn never lies!

You mean they always do it standing up then?

Actually, my porn pretty much said that if only Clark would be honest with Lex, then maybe Clark wouldn't go evil.

I may have been a little biased.

By the way, I finally got around to watching those Season 4 Farscape episodes I'd rented, and I still have no idea why I put them on my Netflix list. They were the introduction of Sikozu and archeological dig with Lots of Jool episodes, entirely without any Aeryn. Why the hell did I want to rewatch those?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've been watching First Wave (my TiVo loves me -- the suggestion folder is filled with Buffy, Angel, First Wave, Stargate and The Simpsons -- and I love it right back) and delighting in the Roger Cross fix (Sebastian Spence ain't bad either).

I'm watching Gulag -- their Window of Opportunity/Life Serial/Cause and Effect -- I'm a little confused by where I am in the series (and I don't remember it that well), but I gotta say -- Cross plays two characters really well. Before I worked out there was a Joshua and a Cain, I wondered why Joshua looked funny -- his face was just different.

Also, hot.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Much of yesterday was spent watching Danielle Steele's Family Album, which featured the first credited role for a younger Joe Flanigan as the gay son of Jaclyn Smith's and Michael Ontkean's characters. He was quite good even back then (not to mention very, very hot), but wow what a departure from his current job.

Ever fired your gun in the air and yelled, 'Aaaaaaah?'

I just picked up Due South seasons 1 and 2 from Best Buy for $40. Squee!
