Huh, no discussion of last night's BSG? My reaction was somewhat better than "meh", as stuff blew up and what-not.

This question and answer in Ron Moore's blog cracked me up: (eta Ron is executive producer)

"Hello, Ron. I have a question about Baltar you ought to answer. One of the things I liked about the original series was the way Baltar did all his chair-swiveling. Boy, he sure looked evil way the frak up there on that big pedestal. And then Lucifer or some other Cylon would come in, and there would be those big, dramatic polytonal chords, and then Baltar would slowly swivel around in his chair to face whatever had come into his room because before they came into his room, he was facing a wall, or something off screen-- who knows what was there. I'm sure there's been a lot of speculation about it. But you see, when you made the new Baltar the way he is-- that is, a non-- chair-swiveller, I didn't think the show could work at all. You've got to have a chair-swiveller in it, and there hasn't been one-- until now. Just as I'm getting used to Callis NOT being a chair-swiveller, there he is at the end of "Tigh Me Up" SWIVELING IN HIS CHAIR! Well, I must say I was very pleased with that, and so now I must ask: Was James Callis's chair-swiveling scene a tribute to John Colicos's chair-swiveling?"

I enjoyed it -- although admittedly I watched the 1 am run of it so was pretty darn sleepy.

However, given that I actually SLEPT through the 10:30 showing of SG1 - I would say that BSG and Aquarium held my interest much better.

The SciFi Channel's BSG website has a series of documentaries [link] on the show. I learned in the latest one that BSG is shot in Hi Def. How cool is that? Maybe it's time for me to get Hi Def cable....

I liked last night's show (BSG) - but don't have a lot to say. the whole prophecy seems too unambiguious to even speculate on

I won't have a chance to watch until this afternoon.

I actually got away from the computer and watched BSG last night. I know, I'm a bad person (I'm an Evil Overlord, and I have a swivelly chair to boot, so duh I'm a bad person), but I honestly regret not making the effort to follow BSG. I wax poetical (and goofy) when talking about the beauty of the opening shots of "Water", and "33" makes me twitchy and short-tempered. I think I empathize with the characters too much. Erk.

Anyway: I knew knew KNEW that the end of last night's episode would make me facepalm. Baltar, you silly goose. You silly, silly, silly thwap goose.

I loved it, down to the pose, leaning against the railing.

Hi, StuntHusband. Wait, I saw you post somewhere else with a shorter, actual name...? I have to say, 33 is what sold me on watching BSG (which, being the pilot, was convenient enough). I thought the mini was, you know, fine, but I wasn't sure I'd watch the series. I was so wrong.

Oh, don't whitefont on my account. I'm a big old spoiler ho anyway.

Plus, I just finished watching. Woo! The action was really well-directed. And I'm still digging Baltar, even in his current status as the Mayor of Twitchy Crazytown, Land of Crazonia in the Kingdom of Why The Fuck Hasn't Anyone Noticed He's Insane Yet? He's pretty and he amuses me, and I'm willing to handwave that everyone else is kind of busy and preoccupied.

Maybe everyone else is just thinking "genius = eccentric."
