If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

A respirator? People that old and that frail rarely come off of those. I think we're nearing the end.

I've never lived in a place without a tub and an oven, but my first NYC studio only had a half-fridge.

I lived in a "junior one bedroom" in DC - bigger than a studio, but the bedroom is more of an alcove than a real room - that had no tub. No oven either, just a range top and a mini fridge.

Montreal uses a numerical system for apartments - a 1 1/2 would be an efficiency (1 room plus bathroom), a 2 1/2 would be like a studio, and you had to get to 3 1/2 before it really counts as a one bedroom.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, vinyl sheeting. That was way harder than it needed to be.

ceramic is easy-peasy to clean -- I used to just use Swiffer wet cloths and voila!

At first blush, this feels like it might snag the swiffer wet, but that's certainly what I'm going to start with.

Brenda -- I was wondering about that numbering system. As a poor student, it never came up, but what happens when you have more than one bathroom? Or a half bath?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

There are cute places by Kat and Lori I can afford. But then I give up Los Feliz. WAHHHHH!!! I LOVE MY CUTE NEIGHBORHOOD!

But our neighborhood has US!

In BURBANK which is much cooler than Los Feliz, if you ignore things like actual coolness and concentrate and the "Town Time Forgot" aspect, plus, near us and K&L.

MWAH! how much do I love Robin for saying that? So much.

In reality Burbank is not bad. It's not hipster fun world, but it's neighborhoody and we're here.

Well, then it gets confusing. 4 1/2 could mean two bedrooms or living and dining rooms too - it works best at the low end of the scale, from what I could tell. We always lived in 5 1/2s, i.e., three bedrooms, and for sure the second bathroom never arose.

holy moley

I couldn't just let the pretty number lie there.

I'm printing out my resume, my application and my essay. MEEP. Am worried about this, but if I didn't get it, it might be okay.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

The Pope is now on a respirator. Man, does it suck to be him. Who is going to have the guts to pull the plug on the Pope?

Methinks he's not long for this world. He's had a good run, though -- he's been the pontiff for more than a quarter-century. He's the only pope I can remember, having been elected when I was 7.

Still, it'll be weird when he dies.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We always lived in 5 1/2s, i.e., three bedrooms, and for sure the second bathroom never arose.

My first apartment outside RVC was a 6 1/2, and we sure could have used another bathroom.

Ick. After that it was just me and 3 1/2s. It's been pretty much that forever, except for a brief foray into the world of 4 1/2 in Michigan.

In reality Burbank is not bad.

Frost. I like Kat and Lori and Robin, but fear outdoor ice with an unholy terror.

Hmm. I think I may be a wee bit closer to krav in the new place. Will you look at that?

I told you. It was SHOUTING your name.

ita, it frosted two days. Two days since I've lived in this house.

Fear not the frost. Fear the blazing heat.

I like my area a lot, or as much as I can like any place in Los Angeles.
