"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Here's his report card comment from his teacher (she's in the Kat mold - challenging and tough, but very very good):

Emmett is full of ideas, energy, and wit, always ready to conribute to our class discussions. Althugh he shows good understanding and is very bright, his work is now often times rushed, careless, and messy. He needs to take the time to do his best work in language and math. He can produce better work more consistently. He is especially gifted with words and expression, both in writing and speaking. Leadership potential too!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Aww, poor Emmett. I'm glad he's already feeling better.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hec, just remember that Owen Wilson's broken nose is a fine, wonderful nose, and if Emmett starts to worry about the aesthetic issues (once all the medical stuff is out of the way) surrounding a mushed nose, you can remind him of that, too.

That said, I hope he gets better soon, and that the remaining medical things are minimal and cause him very little discomfort.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Quick and painless healing for Emmett. And soothing vibes for Emmett's adults.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

just remember that Owen Wilson's broken nose is a fine, wonderful nose

Unless you ask David Spade ...

Poor Emmett! But childhood injuries are good conversation fodder, and Alibelle's nasal delusion aside, not a big deal.

It's not a delusion!

I love JZ. A lot. And I'm sticking my tongue out at ita. A lot .

Also, the word "nose" is beginning to lose all meaning, and is now just making me giggle. But poor, poor Emmett. Hugs and drugs for him. Because it really does suck.

P.S. I'll whitefont this because it is all about me. The fact that I'm being forced to make a bust of myself for my ceramics class is forcing me to look very, very closely at all my facial flaws. The nose one pisses me off. As does my chin scar, from when my father dropped me. It makes me look like I have a double chin from certain angles. Which sucks. I also have a tiny scar on my eyelid from my cat, but that one doesn't particularly bother me. And I have two chicken pox scars on my nose (which are my fault, since I was told not to scratch, but I did it anyway), but they don't really bother me, either. So, basically, the only things about my face that truly bother me are the scars that are there because other people screwed up. Which is the only reason I've ever even considered plastic surgery-- to repair those. But I probably won't ever do it, since I'm both kind of cheap, and kind of afraid of surgery.

Not related to Poor Emmett, but as a west coaster who is up late, I have an urge to break the thread while everyone else is asleep.
