Zoe: Don't think it's a good spot, sir. She still has the advantage over us. Mal: Everyone always does. That's what makes us special.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

shrift, may I tag?

Heh. Be my guest.

The morning stupid seems to be endemic in my office. People have been coming to me all morning, sheepishly admitting, "Can you pull these files from backup? I accidentally deleted/overwrote them."

Although why they trust a fellow stupidhead to fix their boo-boos, I couldn't say.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Welcome, Mallory James! And congrats to Raquel and her DH.

Re: writing things down. I seem to learn through my fingers, so if I want to remember anything I generally have to write it down. So even with proceedures that I've done a thousand times, if I'm in a new environment I'll write down notes about them. Of course, I'll lose the note 15 minutes later, but the knowledge will usually have traveled through my arm to my brain by then. I probably look all kinds of committed to the new data, to onlookers. But damn, my purse is a recycling bin, what with all the notes and torn off bits of papers and so on.

Swouncing

erika! How is your writing going?

Laura, at least it means you're doing something good for yourself, right? And I'm glad that you see such immediate results, with the headaches gone and the sleep being better.

I seem to learn through my fingers

I am Calli.

Oh, and thanks, Cindy.

Congratulations mama Raquel and funny DH, and welcome Mallory James!

Is it wrong of me to be loving the fact that the current winning bracket in my NCAA pool was submitted by a dog? Named El Gato? Eve's bracket is beating mine, but my friend's cat is coming in last.

Always Anti-fascist!

It is moving right along, Nilly! Although to being a rough draft, which is a sloppy mess by definition.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Cats never appreciate the importance of good team defense in the college game.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I am Calli too. I take notes all the time that I never look at again. It's the process of writing something down that helps me remember it.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

No -- cats are all about the showy ball-hogs, which makes for exciting games, but doesn't win tourneys.

There's no "cat" in "team."

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yeah, the thought process tends to be more like Arizona Wildcats-yes, Villanova Wildcats-yes, UConn Huskies-no, Kentucky Wildcats-yes, Wiconsin-Milwaukee Panthers-yes...

Which is why the Kentucky-Cincy game was so hard for them to pick.
