I just left my job of 8 1/2 years last summer. It was difficult in a lot of ways but it was the right move for me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.
I haven't worked full time since last July -- I got laid off, took the summer off, and went back to school full-time. It's a two-year program, so I've got time, but it's a little terrifying watching the debt pile up.

It is so very scary. In many ways this is the worst possible time for me to leave (money has gotten a LOT tighter this past month), but I just feel like it's time. I haven't committed to it yet. I have until the end of March to make a final decision.

People I know professionally continue to say how much better I look then in my last, bad, job. Also, I realized recently I haven't been sick at all since I left.
