We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Hiya Gudanov!

And... Dick Clark is dead? No, I don't believe it either. He's supposed to live forever.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I know, really odd. Victor said his newsroom got the alert though the AP hadn't filed their report yet. It's just...odd. Dick Clark was New Year's every year for my entire childhood.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh my. I hadn't heard that yet. Dick Clark. As if I didn't feel old enough. American Bandstand was the thing when I was a dancing thing. RIP my friend.

eta: I'd give him the highest mark. Easy to dance to with a good beat.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Dick Clark was New Year's every year for my entire childhood.

Yeah, I know. The New Year's Eve? No longer Rockin'.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Aimee, Victor got the news b/c he works in a newsroom, but the AP hasn't actually filed the story yet.

We just know b/c Buffistas Know Everything.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Also, kinda strange funny since Dick Clark lived within 10 miles of me but Victor, NSM

Our wings are not tired.

Yep, no word yet on my usual news links. Back in the day (over 30 years ago) when I had constant teletype news access I was quite addicted to having news every moment. It is quite the transition now that most of the news I don't want to know. Still sad.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm watching Alias and am enjoying the usual Weiss/Vaughn. They make such a damned cute couple. I love that Weiss gets Vaughn's back even when it means withholding from Nadia. Or maybe especially if it means withholding from Nadia. Weiss/Vaughn, there love is so pure.

Okay, got an issue. it's a tiny one... but basically I'm supposed to be at UCLA teaching for two days next month. I've helmed a weekend without my coteacher and I could see me doing what I need for a weekend elsewhere. Scholastic is offering to fly me to New York, put me up in a hotel and feed me to work on their advisory board for a new writing thing on that same weekend.
