To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Hey. Over on sages_of_chaos, in livejournal, I'm organizing a Scavenger Hunt on Infinite Earths, because I am silly and a geek, and need to finish the list. What are some good items from various fandoms--Buffy, Harry Potter, Discworld, Farscape, etc--that I can throw on there. No limits as to what fandom, but funny is good!

What do you do about collars with no neck? Pull 'em up to your ears?

They are flushing the emergency water/sprinkler system right now. It is really really REALLY loud since the standpipe or whatever is about 7 feet away.

paha poika

The Buffista women love the paha poikas (bad boys). They have a thread named after one of them.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

What, you mean like a grindylow tank and a Gaudy Power Center necklace?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

1812!

(that was to Victor)

I have a plan.

Anyone know what EMG stands for? Is it just "Electromyography" or is there more?

Yep. I had one done on me a few years ago. Definitely not the greatest sensation in the world but it was interesting to hear my muscles 'moving'.

This site has banjo music.

However, there is a great deal of subjectivity in the interpretation of an EMG and, as Dr. Forbes Norris used to remind: "One swallow does not a summer make."

Hee. Anyone wanna give the Coupling followup?

(ETA: Also, thanks, Thomash. My computer did not in fact play the banjo music; nevertheless, I just found myself humming "Dueling Banjos." Well. Inasmuch as one can hum banjo music. You know what I mean.)

1812!

What does that mean? If it's a fandom, I need items FROM that fandom.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Scentimental space clothing line:

This project bridges the disciplines of fashion, analytical chemistry, nanotechnology, perfumery and architecture to construct a smart Scentimental Space that enhances visual communication, wellbeing, and sentimentality with the art of perfumery. It enriches public space by allowing the general public to wear clothing from an emotional wardrobe that interacts with wellpaper (wallpaper)

Scentimental space explores ‘Re-cabling Fashion Re-cabling Space’ by embedding senso-cells (body sensors) and colodours (fragrant fluidic colours) into multisensory clothing and responsive environments. The end result is for the user to maintain emotional control, preserve a healthy frame of mind and promote wellness. Colodours focus on lab-on-a-chip smell and colour therapy and the impact it has on mental health. It concentrates on a more active approach to fashion, introducing living surfaces as a Smart Second Skin

What does that mean?

It's from Farscape. You should scavenge the DRD (what does that stand for, anyway?) 1812.

1812 may have a fandom, but I'm not so into history.
