Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

I didn't realize VWs were that bad. The more expensive German brands seem to be serviceable by dealer or specialist garage only, but I thought VWs were less prone to that sort of stuff.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

tommyrot, there is a question for you (and Chikat) in F2F.

Thanks - I would have missed it until tonight otherwise....

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I thought the Germans were famous for good engineering? That's purposefully perverse. Evil Germans.

Efficient engineering. Those headlights probably take up .001% of the battery's output or summat.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So the statewide school API scores were published in the paper today.

I was mildly talking out of my ass by saying Emmett's district is one of the best in Northern California. There are better ones out in the rich white people suburbs. Not that his school isn't good (API score of 884 with 800 as the benchmark of excellence. That ranks it 10 out of a possible 10 statewide, and 8 out of 10 compared to other schools with similar demographics). Cupertino looks impressive though. It's got 23 schools and an average score of 911. Yowza - that's across the board excellence. Emmett's district has five schools in the mid 800s.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm glad that Emmett's school is so good. Will he be able to stay in that district through high school? (Assuming no moves in your's or his mom's future, of course.)

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Changing the headlights in my last Nissan truck involved taking off the plastic front grill, which was held on by these improbable plastic screw/snap things. I lost at least one each time I changed a headlight. There was also a lot of cursing and skinned knuckles. The current version, however, just has these little halogen bulbs that snap in. Great improvement.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have survived meeting, and it was painless. sadly, the muscle twitch has moved from my leg to my shoulder and is painful unless I tilt my head all the way to one side. Taking Advil.

The rest of my day should be able to be spent in my office with minimla human contact. I am very pleased with that fact.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I envy you, msbelle. I don't yet have a practical plan for completing today without falling over.

I had a Nissan Minivan (technically a Mercury, but mostly Nissan) and the headlights were a snap too. Oil changes were also sweet. They put the Oil Filter right next the drain plug just right there on the bottom, nothing to snake an arm around or anything.
