Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Isn't it very early at your timezone of the world?

Just a little early.

How are you?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Anti-Caffeine Crusade

Heh. Beware the Ides of March.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The thing about a heroin break is that it's much less helpful, in terms of worker productivity, than a coffee or cigarette break. Nicotine and caffeine being uppers and all.

How are you?

Having a bad cold for several days now. It just moved from the right side of my face to the left side. The most important thing I learned this week is how to brush my teeth when I still need to breath through my mouth at the same time. You?

Also, in a text I'm reading for my "History and philosophy of science" class, the word "proliferation" appears a lot. I thought of you.

Oh yuck, Nilly. Colds suck. And even with a bad cold, it's hard to tell what's bad enough to take sick time. I hate that.

In Jesse Watches Morning TV news, is it wrong that I really like the Kelly Clarkson song? Although I don't like her blonde hair.

Yeah, Jesse, my sister said that I looked more miserable than she could ever remember me, and one of the girls in a class I take (not TA, thankfully) came up after the lesson to ask me if I'm OK, because I looked so bad during the class. And I'm relatively OK, just, well, 4 packages of tissues since Friday.

It almost feels like (whitefonted for gross-factor) I wiped my nose so much that I wiped my entire brain out of my head, just like the ancient Egyptians used to to when mummyfy-ing their dead, taking their brains out through their noses. And now my sieve has to start building itself anew .

Nilly, last time I was sick, I was horrified and amazed at the amount of snot the human body can produce so quickly. It was disgusting. Hope you feel better soon.

I don't want to work.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The thing about a heroin break is that it's much less helpful, in terms of worker productivity,

But much more helpful, in terms of worker satisfaction.

In the short term, anyway.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Perhaps coincidentally, Kushner founded a company that peddles a soy-based coffee substitute.

I love it when Wired comments with no comment.

Poor Nilly! Poor Susan!

Beware the Ides of March.

Dude, this anti-caffeine crusade is worse than some mere stabbing. It will actually lead to stabbing, and then where will we be?!? Won't somebody think of the children??

Looking worse than you feel is ideal, IMO, because you get the sympathy without feeling quite so bad.
