Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The dark one. It'd be perfect if it were right here, and had a gas range. Oh, and cheaper.

Otherwise, it's very very nice.

Hm. From the amount of blather on then internets about it, this is not a new problem. Still, I'm all incensed. I feel like rebelling against my capitalist oppressors. I don't like Windows Media Player, and more to the point I do like my iPod. Fuckers.

I have half a mind to send it back and say, listen, you can keep your damn benefit CD! But, on the other hand... I wanted this CD, durnit! That, and I don't know if they'll take returns after it's been opened.

Hellbound Equal-Opportunity Nookie Hog

Thanks for the birthday wishes, y'all.

Lee! Congrats on the new job!

Where do they get off trying to control what software I use to listen to the CD?

Copy-protected CDs are relatively new, but they've been an annoyance on the market for a little while now. I think there's a way to get around that with the proper application of a felt-tip marker, but I can't remember which part of the CD you need to cover.

Emily, does it say anywhere in the product listing or on the outside of the package about that restriction? If not, I'd return it without compunction. Even if so, I might give it a shot.

Not that I can see, but I'm not sure where to look. I got it from Amazon (I admit, I did originally see it on the HRC store Website, but I had an Amazon gift certificate, so...)

ETA: Oh, wait, in this itty-bitty print on the bottom of the back cover it says, "This disc contains copy control technology. It is designed to be compatible with yadda yadda ... Minimum requirements MS Windows 95, yadda" but it doesn't say anything about only being playable with WMP.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Thanks Lysana.

ita, I searched, but couldn't figure out which was the dark one. Link?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

What ita said. Are there certain studios doing this? I wouldn't knowingly buy a CD like that.

The listing has expired, Lee. The day after she linked to it, so it was very lucky she saw it then.

Dude, I'm watching Lost, and you can't make me like Shannon. You just can't. And the way they're trying is the absolute worst way.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh well. Hopefully I'll get to see it before I leave.

Probably, but it will most certainly be a horrible mess.
