Anya, the Shopkeepers of America called. They wanted me to tell you that 'please go' just got replaced with 'have a nice day.'

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Huh.

Safe to say that Russell Crowe isn't the most loved guy out there, but the Gladiator star really made enemies with the wrong person.

Namely, Osama bin Laden.

In an interview with GQ in its new March edition, Crowe for the first time talks about a kidnapping plot against him, which he says was hatched by al Qaeda in a bid to " culturally destabilize" the United States.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have only about 10 vowel sounds.

I'm down to about 6. And they're all schwa.

Our wings are not tired.

The kidnapping of Crowe would be a bad nasty thing, but not so much culturally destabilizing. I would still be culturally stable at any rate.

Art Crawl!!!

I was over at Amazon looking at the cover for HP6 and you know what?

Even if I thought I wanted to spend $60.00 on the supergigantic special edition, I wouldn't. Because I don't think there have been supergigantic special editions with sooperseekrit cover art for the other books and it would mean that my collection did not match.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Colin Farrell is lucky he didn't get kidnapped instead.

Compassionately intolerant

Crowe said he first thought the scheme was part of some elaborate Oscar publicity stunt hatched by studio executives.

Somebody's getting publicity...sadly.

And frankly, I think Paul Rueben's arrest had more cultural impact...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was sort of picturing it as a quick, sordid information retrieval done in some dirty back alley, or a nearby motel room over you lunch hour.

At least it isn't done for money.

information libertarian

ita's joke was funnier than anything Chris Rock aid at the Oscars.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I know I have at least 10 because of the long and short sound for each vowel. I still clearly fall in the not distinguishing between words that are spelt differently (erin/aaron) (cot/caught) ad naseum. also this is discussion #48 and should be in the deja vu thread.
