TAR: Alibelle is me on Rob and Amber. I'm loving the hell out of them, and I don't like any of the other teams enough right now to mind if they win.
Sumi, the mother/son team hadn't run out of money at the funicular, they just hadn't changed enough. But I think the teams at the market were actually out, so things must have been pretty tight. Again, score one for Rob, who thought about that when choosing tasks.
I don't know how the kid hurt himself - I'm pretty sure we didn't see.

Hate it when people have to ask me to do something that is mindnumbingly complicated because they have not a clue what they are asking.
Hate parking too, but that's just residual since I got a spot this morning.
I'll preemptively hate the gas & electric company for giving me 2 bills and one envelope and 3(!) utility hookup charges for one hookup that I now have to sort out. And hope they don't lose any checks.
I'm just a nice little seething pot of hate today.

Work stress. I've got a long and consequential day in front of me, and it just got longer by a couple hours because I couldn't sleep.
I was just reading a (rather self-serving) article in the NYTimes about why the lack of cohesion on the Yankees is actually a strength. Lots of blah blah blah about social structures, high pressure jobs etc. but there was a very interesting tidbit referenced from another study.
In one continuing investigation of a highly diverse high school of 1,600 students, Dr. Morrill found that a single 16-year-old white skateboarder had been critical to the reduction of conflict. "He moves between black, Asian, Hispanic and white groups, and he's one of these kids who's always bringing good news," he said. "He's a very important person in this school."
Which is the sort of thing you sometimes feel intuitively, but it still seems intriguing.

I do have to admit, Salem (or at least my street and, especially, my car) seemed to get a lot less than Boston last night - I had a harder time scraping away the centimeter of ice last night when I got back to Salem depot). Still hella windy. The air temprature would be OK if the wind would just CUT THE SHIT AND GO AWAY!!!
