This is the only place I've seen her. With clients (which is how I think of the Starting Over women), she's really good. Calm and still, yet unwilling to backdown.
It's a nice combo.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I don't know how to spell her name much.My head wants to switch her Y with her L.

I think that's the key. From what I remember of her Oprah appearences, it was just sort of undirected cheerleading that seemed not particularly useful. Too generic. But one on one, I enjoy her. Hell, I'd hire her.
Iyanla also used to write a column in Essence Magazine (or maybe it was Ebony?). I quite enjoy her. She seems, as Kat says, to be a good mixture of tough yet caring. I don't like the hard ass, Dr. Phil type life coaches (I don't know if they have that type on Starting Over). I think you can help people without being a prick and full of yourself. (Apologies to any Dr. Phil fans. That's just my own personal opinion. Can't stand the man.)
The next 42 minutes are going to go very slowly. Feh.

You know, I've tried, but they just don't listen!
(Kidding. Sometimes they listen...)
ETA: Thread is not allowed to die on a post of mine that only I found amusing. It's a rule. And now I have to go buy groceries.
Ginger, I think we are staying at the airport Holiday Inn. The horror!
Oh, the horror indeed. The only place I ever eat on the southside is Thomas's at the State Farmers Market. In town, it depends on how much the big boss wants to spend. Bone is good (and pricey) for an old-school steak place with wonderful waiters. Agave is good. It's the last week for my favorite restaurant, Sundown Cafe, before it morphs into more of a lunch/fast food place. (Sigh.) You could take the train to where I live (Decatur), where there's a town square and a huge variety of restaurants or to Little Five Points, where the '60s never died.
Big boss is a big spender on the corporate account. We had folks up visiting from NOLA a couple weeks ago and we went to this insanely expensive (and good) Korean vegeterian place, Hangawi. I am taking notes.
eta: I thought the joke was hi-larious. It's just that people came around wanting to talk to me. Stupid people.
Okay, I need to stop spending money on my computer. I don't know where the sudden bug to upgrade came from (I normally have the attitude of "I work on computers all day. As long as mine works, I don't really care.") but in the past two days I've ordered a new video card and now two 120GB serial ATA drives with the intention of RAIDing them. Plus the new memory I ordered and installed last month. It's not like there's even a new video game I really want to play that's prompting this.
You people talk a lot. It's a full-time job trying to keep up.
Happy belated anniversary to Kat and Lori!
Happy belated birthdays to Beverly, Jon and Katie M.!
~ma and booze for those who need it.
I wholeheartedly agree with ita: this Tuesday needs to end now. It sucks more than Jenna Jaimeson.
