Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just hold an ice cube to a small burn like that.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

No miracles, unfortunately, but just make up a bowl with water and some ice (not frostbite level, just enough so it will stay cold) and just leave it in there a while. It won't hurt while it's in the cold water, and eventually those neurons give up on firing quite so much.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It's finally starting to fade a bit. The big problem was that I was trying to go to bed early tonight and I couldn't sleep with the finger throbbing - or, as it turns out, with it in a precariously balanced bowl of baking soda goop. I'm going to go try again now. Wish me luck.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I've eaten too many tamarind balls tonight, AIFG.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've eaten too many tamarind balls tonight, AIFG.

Whee!

I just taught another good class. Now, to sleep an entire night through. I think I've earned it.

Are you ready to be strong?

I wanna take class from ita. But I would suck at it and she would have to yell at me then order the rest of the class to krav my head and torso, and that would not be totally fun.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

ita doesn't yell in class. Or, she didn't in the one I went to, at least. But I was feeling sick, so maybe she was just being nice. ita's the nicest.

I LOVE MY DANCE CLASS. Just, you know, FYI. I learned sooooo many things tonight. Including a tango! And I have never ever tangoed (tango'd?) before, ever. And my teacher didn't believe me. Which was super nice, and also awesome. And I got to do really impressive things during the tango, like a flip which was basically a back walkover, but instead of using your hands, which you don't, you go over the guy's shoulder, and he holds you. And there was also a nifty balonce type thing, but you do it by going off the guy's leg. All VERY nifty. And very new. And very cool. And my teacher simply refused to believe I hadn't done it before, so it was also very flattering. So that was nice.

Also I have pretty hair right now, so I am in a very happy place.

I don't think my happy place should be disturbed with homework.

Our wings are not tired

My theatre company did an internal reading of a new play tonight. Interesting piece, pretty fucked up subject matter. Still not sure if I liked it. I thought there were structural flaws with the piece, but the Artistic Director didn't see them the same way (I'm associate Art. Director). Either way, good discussion was had.
