No, something's sprung in the frame, and there's a bizarre chip in one of the lenses. I fear they're unsalvageable.
Luckily, I've hung on to my older, less comfortable glasses, so I can drive and stuff. My stronger eye is 20/60, so I'm okay for a lot of walking around, et cetera.
I left them sitting on a stair, which I never do. And then later I walked up the stairs without turning on the lights, which I also hardly ever do (we have cats who object to being stepped on). Stupid, stupid, stupid, but I'm just going to have to assign the cost to a Stupidity Tax and stop with the self-blaming.
Also, the optometrist/eyeglasses place is right across the street from work. Now I just have to get into work on time...
Timelies!
It's Monday
- David Bowie.
I have neglected to apply antiperspirant/deodorant. Sigh.
And my hair is sticking up.
At least I didn't step on my glasses.
I hate paying the stupidity tax, Theo. And it seems to come due again so soon. Maybe that's just me. Probably. Definitely.
Poor flea. Baby eating your branze?
I hate paying the stupidity tax, Theo.
That would be my car scratch. I'd never thought of it that way, but that's exactly what it was.
Meara-ing:
This is the part where I clutch Shrift and Dana to my bosom and never, ever, ever let them go.
Ahahahaha! I belatedly clutch at thee, too! I am ignoring the wank which has spooged my friendslist. It's easy to do since I stopped reading lj during the work day.
I just read that f_w used to be on LJ but they got kicked off for offensive behavior.
Dude, I remember when that happened. I do believe they were booted from LJ for "harassment" of other users, also possibly due to someone posting private contact information.
Of course, I can't exactly remember what went down because I don't pay much attention to things what don't thrill me, but I've been in fandom for 7 years, so I learn a lot by way of diffusion.
Now I go read the last 200 posts.
Morning. Going to be late to work
again.
Good shopping weekend. Cashmere sweater for 18 bucks, a skirt that I'm in love with for about the same, and best of all, this bench: [link] for $65 instead of $250 because of a couple of cracks on the surface - barely noticable, and even so, I don't think they detract from the appearance. I didn't like the cushions they had to go with it (the one in the picture is one of only two options) so now I'ma have to hunt for that. Fun!
Going way, way back, there's an article in this week's Economist about why renting a home may be a better option than buying.
I got mearad by shrift! I feel special.
