Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Gronklies.

I just overslept by four hours. And while there is, theoretically, time to make it to my first class on time, that would mean skipping both lunch and shower, and I don't really feel like skipping either.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is that the gym with valets, ita?

Yes! It was so funny -- on my initial visit the membership director said to valet my car and they'd comp it -- I didn't think twice until I was waiting to get it back. Every. Single. Car that came back before mine cost twice what mine cost. New. And undinged. It took them forever to get my car -- I believe it's because they kept looking at it and thinking "No, this can't be it."

Hi-larious. I'm so not meant to be there.

I wonder if the towel lady would let me put my own ice pack in her little freezer ...

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I believe it's because they kept looking at it and thinking "No, this can't be it."

Or the car was so far back that it was ridiculously difficult to move everything else around to get your car out.

What is even happening?

So Salem and Quincy are both in 781, despite being on opposite sides of Boston; and Quincy and Dorchester, which are contiguous, are different codes.
I thought Salem was 978. I think it was 508 for a while, and some of the more easterly 508s (which had been 617s) got converted to 978. Gah. Makes me dizzy. Still the point remains. Medford? 781. Somerville, right nextdoor? 617? Boston 617? Quincy, on the other side of Boston, and further from Medford than from either Boston, or Somerville? 781. Goofy.

Much less fun to entertain, so I'll stick with my version.

I've lived in 718 (I think), 201, 504, and 202. (The "I think" on the 718 is because, while I'm pretty sure that's what Riverdale is now, I'm not positive that's what it was in the early eighties.)

Swouncing

[Edit: skipping lots and lots, of course. I'm not even a skipper anymore. I'm not even a skip. A ski, maybe]

So, the network seems to be alive now. It was only mostly dead (though it took less than a miracle to revive it, but according to the expression on the system administrator's face, not by much). Not everything is working, yet, and I still need to check how much data I've lost. If I can have two posts in the same day, however, I think it means things are on the right track.

So, um, nice new thread, hi, everybody, how are you, and now it's possible that I may get to actually read the answer.

this is so true. I used to valet park my Geo Prizm occasionnally when I was in a hard to park area, used to take forever to get back. Now, with the shiny new Saab, it takes seconds. It's often parked on the street!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Gack. The train that was supposed to take me to Ventura this weekend seems like it's not going to happen. Last minute travel plan changes! Whee!
