When I was in college (1989-1993), you could call anywhere on campus -- dorm rooms, offices, etc. -- just by dialing the last 4 digits, because they all had the same prefix.

My college was the same way, and I was in school '96-'00. I'm not sure if it's still like that, but i hope it is.

Area code list.

Possibly slightly out of date, as it refers to 2001 events in the future tense.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yes. Also, area codes that end in 0. Thefuck?

Right??

Our wings are not tired.

My dad would still use the exchange name when telling you a number, "Cedarwood 3-5100" or "C-E 3-5100" instead of 233-5100.

I still think of my home number for the first 18 years of life as Redwood 2-8265.

We don't dial 10 digits yet, but they do in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Living in the same house I had 3 different area codes here. Palm Beach County used to be 305, then they split Miami off and made us 407, then they split Lauderdale off and changed us to 561.

A large % of my personal address book has outdated area codes.

I discussed the sports injuries with DH again. He is going to talk to our son. Jr. is much lighter than his dad was at that age. DH played football at that age because he was stocky as well as tall. At 6' Jr. is only 145 pounds and gets pushed around pretty easily. He agrees that the kid losing his knees when he is only in 7th grade is not acceptable. I may try and put some weight on him with shakes a couple times a day or something. He is so healthy otherwise I hate to mess with his diet. Ugh, this parenting thing is complex.

How the hell am I supposed to book tickets for a family reunion when I only have the vaguest idea what the plan is? I know there is something dinnerlike on the saturday. But I don't think we have rooms friday night. And I'm not sure about Sunday either. And with my luck, I'm going to be stuck on a cot in the same room as my parents, listening to my dad snore, so I want to minimize the number of nights of insomnia.

God, I am so cranky. This should be fun! But all I want to do is say fuckit. Except that would really disappoint some people.

Why did I put this off so long?!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Gronk. I'm supposed to be at the PT right now, but my power went off, so I'm kind of not.
