Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

oooooooooooh free ice cream!

Yesterday Victoria's Secret was giving out free bras and now free ice cream. Life is good!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Are you guys having makeup parties without me?

You know me. All about the Sephora shindigs.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, that ice cream thing TAUNTS ME. There is a Baskin-Robbins between me and the subway, but I have no printer to print the damn coupon!!

Up with the sun

I'd probably be happy with the networks, HBO, VH1, TNT, TBS, FX, Discovery Health, Bravo, Comedy Central, MSNBC or CNN (I don't actually need both) and the Food Network. There's nothing else I watch more than occasionally.

"Cable is a much greater violator in the indecency area...I think we have the same power to deal with cable as over-the-air. There has to be some standard of decency."

There is. It is called the first amendment, and the supreme court's interpretation of same re: obscenity. Beyond that, it's a question of the marketplace economy.

(I'm sympathetic to parents' concerns. But my mom was pretty strict about what my brother and I could see, and she managed to monitor what we watched without the government getting involved. I think most parents can say the same. This isn't about protecting children, it's about foisting their values on grown-ups.)

Do you have a laptop, and could you make a screen capture of the page?

Carry the computer to B-R? Hee! I think I'd rather just buy my own ice cream.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I have to go buy powder again now that I'm actually using it on a daily basis. It's amazing how fast that stuff goes. And while the allegedly waterproof and smear proof mascara that I bought a couple of weeks ago makes my lashes look lovely, it still ends up in a brown smudge under my eyes by the end of the day. The "hasn't slept a full night since Bush was elected" is not the look I'm going for.

Although the ladies in the store scare ita.

They scare me too. Orange is not a natural skin colour. I found a nice Australian chap in the end. He didn't gesture at me threateningly with concealer or anything.

I got a lot more sex and violence from books than from tv when I was growing up. I'd worked my way through my mum's Jackie Collins collection and my dad's Tom Clancys by the time I was eleven or twelve.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

You know me. All about the Sephora shindigs.

Hmm.

Baskin Robbins is taunting me. I have both a printer and a yahoo account. However, it does NOT in fact load the coupon in a new window, and therefore the coupon goes all weird and goes away. It won't stay long enough to be printed. Very obnoxious.

I haven't heard from Burrell, but I am going to lunch anyway. Otherwise I might miss it entirely, and I'm hungry.

*Off to be bitter about Baskin Robbins*

MAC is fun. Although the ladies in the store scare ita.

my local MAC is always mad crowded and plays very loud thumpa thumpa music. And the staff is a bit too haughty for my taste.
