Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it seemed kind of insulting.

It was either insulting black people, or the Academy, or white people, or SOMEONE. Well, unless it was supposed to be funny and not antagonistic. Albert Brooks was hysterical, though, but not worth all the rest of the repetition.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Did anyone else think that brunette Renee Z. looked remarkably like Lily Tomlin as Ernestine, the phone operator? I was expecting RZ to say, "One, ringy-dingy..."

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I thought she looked like Mrs. Bates.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I thought she looked like Mrs. Bates.

All corpseified and gross?

The evil is this way?

As for Chris Rock, his opening was OK - I laughed at the comments that Jude Law was in EVERY picture this year, mostly because I've been thinking the same thing. What didn't work was the bit with Adam Sandler and most of his intros/comments throughout the rest of the evening. Overall, they felt rushed and not very funny.

Do folks think Chris Rock was better than Letterman? I do.

("Uma - Oprah. Oprah - Uma." Ugh.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We watched at a friend's house, along with a two-year-old and a six-year-old and our new dog and their old dog, who kept trying to play.

My watching experience was similar. The hosts have two medium sized dogs, one of which is still young and new to the household -- not even 2 weeks. So the two dogs were all riled up, every time anyone came in the door, and THEN other friends brought their Pomeranian, who is the biggest trouble maker EVER. As soon as Maggie and Max would settle down, Trip would run over all "WHAT'S UP? WHAT'S GOING ON? LET'S PLAY!! I'MA POKE YOU IN THE FACE NOW! FUN, RIGHT??"

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Trip sounds Hilarious. The Cocker Spaniel at the place I watched was all wound up because of the guests, but it seemed everytime we would get her camed down, her owner would yell about something on the show and Lola would start bounding around again. She was such a tired puppy by the end.

One of these days, little Trip is going to end up in the doggie ER. He's already been picked up in a Big Dog's mouth in the dog run. He's only 8 months still, so he's just so dumb and cute.
