Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

You're welcome, Sox.

If you like Firefly, try Merchanters Luck. There's a similar mythos, I think. Comparisons, anyway.

Juliana, I like your center of the hurricane imagery.

Because books.

Ooh, juliana, that's really immediate and effective. And I love Sox's, too!

From way (or some, at least) upthread:

But I have thought I was going to attempt another novel before, and those efforts have failed to gel.

I think the thing I always try to remember, though, is that it still *counts* when you have to sit down and make things happen. Plots don't spring out of Zeus's forehead, you know? Just playing "what if" can help, and if the things you think of don't end up working, then you play it again. Also, I think once you get into the meat of a story, it's easier for plot events to present themselves, based on what's already happened and where your characters are headed.

I can't beta right now, though, by the way. Way too much writing of my own I'm not getting done.
