I've started a newish project. Almost through the first chapter. And I guess I've got something of a resolution - 250 words a day, on average. It doesn't sound like much, but if I try for more than that I'll get discouraged the first dry day and fall too far behind. Been doing it a week or two, and it's been feeling about right.
This is the first I've told anyone about it.
I'm supposed to be writing a pilot. I'm still trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to write.

Do they give you any kind of guidelines or just tell you "Write something"?
It's supposed to be used as a sample so I can write whatever I want. So, ideally, it should be something that reflects who I am as a writer. I'm still trying to figure out what that is.

"The fresh blood spattered across the milk-white velvet gave Marco the idea for the printed fabrics that would make him world-renowned at the next Fashion Week."
Or it's an entry for Bulwer-Litton.
I once had an idea to do a short for YouTube spoofing Numb3rs. It was called Sho3s and it was about an FBI agent whose sister helped her solve crimes.
The sister worked in the shoe department at Neiman Marcus.

Pretty please? With Loboutains on top?
I love that idea, Kristen.
People are writing things! Yay!
My goal for this year is still to get at least marginally more serious about songwriting. I really let it just fall off my plate when I get busy, which is always now, and I have Stuff To Say, so I should damn well be writing.
