You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Typo and I share thoughts on writing poetry.
And we didn't even know it. Tee.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Challenge #111 (comfort food) is now closed.

Catching up too late after hectic weekend. I was sorry to see no one followed up on the suggestion over in Natter to write a "Comfort Food" drabble on frozen-peas-as-icepack. I thought it was a great twist on the topic, and it made me laugh.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

How about one on romantic relationships that came out of fandom--people who met specifically through fandom and fell in love. Do Nora and Tom count?

Yeah, they met at one of the first Somervillain F2F's.

As to the rest, I'd be willing to bet you can make up a significant amount of words just going back and adding detail. If you can't find an extra 1,000 words of description back there, in small little snippets, I'd be amazed. (I think I made up, like, an extra 3,000 on this when writing Nihilist Chic.)

Put it in the drawer for a day or two. Try your best not to think about it, and then read it all over from the beginning. As you're reading, just let yourself think back to all the stuff that made you want to write this in the first palce. Another anecdote here, another example there. You'll find it all.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Whoohoo, erika! That's great news!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

YAY ERIKA!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Rock ON, Erika!! Good on you, girlie!

Hey, I looked at what I tried to write when I had a cold and all 1 page of it (when I set myself a 10 page a week goal) is all And then she said SNOTSNOTSNOTSNOT IDIOTIDIOT SNOT.

Why didn't anyone warn me about writing while LEGALLY BRAIN DEAD? Huh? I hold you all accountable. Somehow. No, really, I'm looking at you.

Although I now have great material for the epic tale of the 3 Cold Sores That Ate My Face From The Lip Out.

Ok. Tomorrow is Tuesday. It begins a New Week. I shall write 2 pages after my all-day staff meeting and my visit to 2 DMV's. (I have to go to Kansas AND Missouri.) Did I mention my book has horror elements? Tomorrow should seal my inspiration, yo.

Allyson, you may steal my idea for the Epic of the 3 Cold Sores That et. al. I am firmly convinced they are the secret Big Bad of Seaon 8 Buffy in an altverse. (And yes, I will have The Three immortalized (or at least recorded for the next 6 years) on my driver's license. Life is GOOD.

Amy, I gotcha, and thanks.

FYI: Male love interest: Cillian

Happy Ending: Yeah, that too. Although right now I am leaning strongly towards Tess clutching a vat of Valtrex to her heaving bosom and moaning "My precious! Give its to me!"

Er, that came out pornier than I intended. Ah, well...
