Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

My muse was a very fickle bitch this week, but she finally came through with one drabble for the Look At Me challenge.

We look so carefree there. Mar del Plata was just a little seaside resort with no sophistication. No one from the city came down here, except to get away from the hectic routines of big business in Buenos Aires. Oil was an important commodity; the Argentine economy depended on its sale.

The three of us had come down to get away from the overwhelming stench of the crowds on the streets during the summer. Pablo said we could use a break from routine; he didn’t want us getting stale. At least Mar del Plata got us away from the Germans.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hey! I got ALL motivated this weekend (read: no net, no money) and spun out 11 pages of a fluffy vampire romance.

Anyone want to give me some feedback? It's kind of in a Katie McAllister/Mary Janice Davidson vein (sorry, heh) but a little dirtier.

Lemme know. It's burnin' a hole in my flash drive.

I am definitely in the mood to read some fluffy vampire romance. You can send it to amy at amygarvey dot com.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Erin, I'd suck at fiction feedback right now, or I'd offer. But R&RNF, all 45K words in seventeen days, has pretty much taken over my faculties.

I don't if anyone has seen this or not but every year there's a screenplay competition for Screenwriters Expo. I just noticed that, this year, there's a new side competition or something. Since I know we have some writers/comic fans around these parts, I thought I'd pass on the link:

$50,000 PRODUCTION DEAL: COMIC BOOK/GRAPHIC NOVEL

Wow, Deb, that's a lot of work. Rock and roll mystery, right? I'm so curious! It sounds like a lot of fun.

I haven't done a word count for me -- huh. 7300 words, 11 pages, single spaced since about midnight Friday, and no writing yesterday. Go team No Net.

AmyLiz, doll, insent.

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Thanks for posting that, Kristen. Intriguing.

Because books.

Got it, Erin. Will read it in a little bit -- I have to do a few other things while the baby's napping.

Cool -- I'm looking at job listings for teachers.
