Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

And I'm definitely thinking through here to figure out if I've got the right balance of danger and sex, bearing in mind that I'm the type who rolls my eyes forever at a certain type of sex while in Mortal Peril. I'm all, "No. You're not doing that now. There are people with guns CHASING YOU, you don't even have so much as a locked door to protect you, and you're gonna get it on? Nuh-uh. Let me break it to you--until you get away from the people with the guns, flight takes priority over nookie, or I'm doubting your Darwinian fitness."

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

That's great, Allyson! Good luck.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

ALLYSON!

If the air near you rippled just now, it was from the big old YESSSS! fistpump I gave.

This writers' retreat sounds just marvellous, and I think all our authors should do it: Hedgebrook.

Teppy, that place looks wonderful. I suck at retreats, though; I just love hearing about them.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Whoot, Allyson! Luck!

Also, Susan, I think four sounds about right. And Anna could injure but not kill hers, making for a languishing painful death that she regrets causing. Or making Jack have to clean up after her and be in danger.

What is even happening?

Go Allyson!

By the way, I should make it very clear that I am completely usurprised at the agent wanting to read Allyson's work. What made me jump was the speed of it. Dayum, that first bite was quick!

I know! My, Allyson, you must be "now" or something! Go you!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I sent out about a third of the essays. Keep telling myself that the best to hope for is maybe some good feedback on why it blows.

If things work out better than that, think how surprised I'll be!

Seriously, I was up until 1am, trying to talk myself into sending it.
