Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I like assonance.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The Counterpane Fairy: [link]
I loves Deena soooo much. Thank you.
I meant to say, Cass, that The Counterpane Fairy has been out of print for some 60+ years -- my copy was one that my mother found at a rummage sale many years ago, and I have no idea how many (or, more likely, how few) other copies even exist any more.
I might have realized this once I googled but it might have taken longer than I care to admit. I don't mind looking through old books on the offchance I run across one though. Cause, you know, boooooooooooks...

OTOH, I am going to the U2 concert tonight and I haven't figured out that I should be excited yet, so I am slow today. I should also be showered. Grumble... I sense coffee in my future as I still believe that coffee = happy.

Anything with "bugger" in it makes me giggle. Favorite is still from billytea: Bugger me sideways with a fish fork. Though, not exactly work friendly. Or society friendly. Quite friendly with said fish fork though. Ima miss the turnover aren't I?

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Someone remind me that it would be a bad idea to murder a bride whose wedding I'm coordinating.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I know that utility companies have us by the shorthairs. But I don't like it and I don't like SoCal Gas. They suck alot with their suckiness and suckful selves that suck a whole sucky lot.

Suckycakes.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Alibris is offering a "new softcover" of The Counterpane Fairy for $21.54. It doesn't mention illos, though.

Much comfort wished for Cashmere and Christopher, and Mike's family and other friends.

Ease-ma to Brendon.

Yay to connie on new glasses--isn't it wonderful when your vision is so sharp and clear? Of course my eyes begin to adjust almost immediately, so within a day or two they've begun to refocus...stupid eyes. And I had prescription sunglasses forever*, until this last pair of bifocals, which I got in indestructo titanium frames, with the magnet-on made-to-match shades. Of course I lost the first pair, and it was $75 to replace them. Boo.

Nora, I hope you're feeling better after your minimeltdown. Sometimes that's just what it takes, and it's better to go ahead and blubber and get over and past it. It's nice that you could do it at home, though. And your turkey and black bean chili sounds fab.

We (DH) made lentils last night, with tiny bits of onion, carrot, spinach and kielbasa. Yum.

No-stress-ma to Ben on the testing.

And lots of calm and strength wished to Emmett's grownups, as well as an easy procedure and a quick recovery.

*by the cheap and simple expedient of having the lenses of the previous pair dyed as dark as possible whenever I got new glasses.

Shut up and pay us to give you gas.
