brenda, I know Katie MacAlister. She's in my RWA chapter, though she doesn't come to many meetings, and she's one of the big three speakers at our conference this fall. And while to the best of my knowledge she's not One of Us, if she wanted to be she'd probably fit right in.

She's done a couple about vampires, too. And she has a whole YA series going where the teenage protagonist is dating a vampire she meets while her mother drags her around Europe as part of a psychic Goth fair or some such. She's very funny.
