Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
When DH was in first grade, he fell out of their pear tree--hitting every branch on the way down. He went to school scratched and bruised. When the school nurse asked him if he had ever had stitches or been hurt before he replied gleefully, "Oh, yeah! Here and here and here," pointing to all his other scars.
They actually called his parents in for a conference to investigate whether it was abuse.
It wasn't abuse--it was DH being gullible enough to believe he could fly if he lept off the top of the slide when his cousin told him he could.
At least Owen gets it honest.
Wow, I didn't know stingrays were that bad. My mom caught a ray of some sort when we were fishing in the surf when I was around 12. We cut the line because it made us all nervous. Then she caught a catfish and one of its "whiskers" got stuck in my foot (how? I honestly don't remember) so we got to try to find our way to a hospital while on vacation. Not nearly so bad as the stingray, it soudns like.
Heh, I do have a scar from that. And possibly and unnaturally short toe.

Timelies. Teacup guy is joining us for what is traditionally Girl's Night Out tonight. I was alreadynervous about what one friend might say to him, and then this was my horoscope today:
Careful, now. Someone with a serious case of jealousy and resentment could be setting out to ruin what looks like one of the best weekends you've had in a while -- romantically speaking, that is. Don't feed any energy into the negativity.
I am taking this as a bad sign.
Owen loves his teevee
Awww. So.very.cute! Cashmere, don't kick yourself too hard about the coffee table, if he didn't hurt himself on that he would mostlikely find something else to hurt himself on.
Aidan went to the eye doctor today. He came back a total pain-in-the-ass, but his eyes are the same, which is good.
Yay for good eyes; sorry about the pain-in-the-ass. Good luck with the autism evaluation.
I have no interest in googling anyone from high school. I could still run into most of them by just going back to the town I grew up in, which is only 10 minutes away.
Good luck finishing the curtains, vw.
Hi all, thanks for the well wishes to my nephew's homecoming.
Snowy and blowing here. We could get between 6 and 14 inches by tomorrow.
Oh, I think I forgot to say, glad to hear your nephew's home, Daniel!
And much ~ma for an accurate evaluation for Aidan. Hoping for good news, but hoping more for knowing what's what.
Congratulations on your nephew coming home, Daniel!
My name is too common for google. HS was too long ago for me to remember people's names. No googling for me.
I have lots of fun memory scars, the kids have scars, DH has scars. I pity the fool with no scars.
By the time they're through with this painful Terri Schiavo situation, none of us will be able to make any decisions whatsoever for our loved ones anymore.
I hate the standard Living Will forms because things are not always so black and white. This whole Terri situation that we see daily in Florida because of Jeb! has made me rethink my need for documents. I'm working on the writing that basically says if I am incapacitated my husband makes the decisions. Period. I trust him to communicate with doctors and my other family and do the right thing. It isn't possible for me to say exactly what I would want done in every situation that may occur.
I don't know what to think of the whole Terri situation. Neither the parents or the husband are very sympathetic. The state government involvement is outrageous in picking sides.
The worst bit was the Stone Harbor NJ hospital seemed to be hosting the witless residents at the time and the very young, very New Yawk, very stoopid doc on call didn't recognize the wound. After asking my boyfriend if perhaps I had emotional problems and was trying to garner attention (because my ankle wasn't broken and the witless could not ken any other cause for the pain), an older, wiser woman doc came in and said,'Hey, that's a stingray strike...and that really hurts."
I honestly felt like I'd been freed from the 7th level of Hell after she swabbed the area with...wait for it...Adolph's Meat Tenderizer. No lie.
If you are vacationing near water, I recommend you buy a packet just in case. Works on stingrays, catfish, jellyfish, etc. Draws the poison right out.
ION. I have the worst flu I've had in forever. I'm misery incarnate. But it is nice to be here with you guys. Distracting. Entertaining. Inspiring. Buffistae Rule!
Ooh. We have a blizzard warning.
Well, time to leave for work.
By the time they're through with this painful Terri Schiavo situation, none of us will be able to make any decisions whatsoever for our loved ones anymore.
The leader of the Right to Life group in my hometown suggested in a letter to the editor of the local paper that Terry Schiavo's "collapse" was the result of abuse and that her husband shouldn't be allowed to make that decision for her. Pissed me right off because it was her buliemia that caused the potassium imbalance that led to her collapse and subsequent vegetative state.
Is the state going to make all our health decisions for us? I want to know why people are advocating marriage at all if our spouse is basically useless in this area. She's an adult, not a child. As much as this pains her parents, it's her husband's decision to make.
