Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, I think I forgot to say, glad to hear your nephew's home, Daniel!

And much ~ma for an accurate evaluation for Aidan. Hoping for good news, but hoping more for knowing what's what.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Congratulations on your nephew coming home, Daniel!

Our wings are not tired.

My name is too common for google. HS was too long ago for me to remember people's names. No googling for me.

I have lots of fun memory scars, the kids have scars, DH has scars. I pity the fool with no scars.

By the time they're through with this painful Terri Schiavo situation, none of us will be able to make any decisions whatsoever for our loved ones anymore.

I hate the standard Living Will forms because things are not always so black and white. This whole Terri situation that we see daily in Florida because of Jeb! has made me rethink my need for documents. I'm working on the writing that basically says if I am incapacitated my husband makes the decisions. Period. I trust him to communicate with doctors and my other family and do the right thing. It isn't possible for me to say exactly what I would want done in every situation that may occur.

I don't know what to think of the whole Terri situation. Neither the parents or the husband are very sympathetic. The state government involvement is outrageous in picking sides.

Compassionately intolerant

The worst bit was the Stone Harbor NJ hospital seemed to be hosting the witless residents at the time and the very young, very New Yawk, very stoopid doc on call didn't recognize the wound. After asking my boyfriend if perhaps I had emotional problems and was trying to garner attention (because my ankle wasn't broken and the witless could not ken any other cause for the pain), an older, wiser woman doc came in and said,'Hey, that's a stingray strike...and that really hurts."

I honestly felt like I'd been freed from the 7th level of Hell after she swabbed the area with...wait for it...Adolph's Meat Tenderizer. No lie.

If you are vacationing near water, I recommend you buy a packet just in case. Works on stingrays, catfish, jellyfish, etc. Draws the poison right out.

ION. I have the worst flu I've had in forever. I'm misery incarnate. But it is nice to be here with you guys. Distracting. Entertaining. Inspiring. Buffistae Rule!

All is well that ends in pizza.

Ooh. We have a blizzard warning.

Well, time to leave for work.

Now tagless for your comfort.

By the time they're through with this painful Terri Schiavo situation, none of us will be able to make any decisions whatsoever for our loved ones anymore.

The leader of the Right to Life group in my hometown suggested in a letter to the editor of the local paper that Terry Schiavo's "collapse" was the result of abuse and that her husband shouldn't be allowed to make that decision for her. Pissed me right off because it was her buliemia that caused the potassium imbalance that led to her collapse and subsequent vegetative state.

Is the state going to make all our health decisions for us? I want to know why people are advocating marriage at all if our spouse is basically useless in this area. She's an adult, not a child. As much as this pains her parents, it's her husband's decision to make.

subsequent vegetative state.

Besides what is she's somehow aware of her condition. I think it would be awful to be trapped like that for 15 years.

Oh, this is exactly what creeps me out about it. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. And I've left well documented instructions to prevent it from happening to me.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Besides what is she's somehow aware of her condition.

I don't think this is true, but if it were, how much more painful. I feel for her parents, I really do, but sometimes you just have to let someone go. And this notion of somehow post hoc evaluating relationships to determine who should get to make decisions is just sickening.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Y'all don't want me to describe my stars, because it would be a very long post. Aside from about 30 inches of surgery scars, there's the four stitches on my upper lip from falling on the ice when I was eight, the eight stitches in my hand from the exploding New Year's wine bottle, the scar on my lower lip from falling in the bathtub when I was three, the place where I got my hand caught in the umbrella, the time my mother accidentally spilled boiling water on me, the two times I accidentally spilled boiling water, the compound fracture from karate, pinching scars from my little sister and the scar from the time my sister dropped the sparker on my foot.

My last name has more Google hits than you'd think, mostly because a guy who's probably a distant cousin is a very famous trumpet player.
