Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

A telltale sign of paganism is nudity.

Cool, so you can blame it on heredity. "I was born that way."

Psychologist Robert Stoller said, “Masculinity is an achievement.”

That's nice. Every morning I find I've grown stubble. Apparently I can be proud of that.

Cause girls? Both icky and confusing.

Well, true. Of course, I kind of like that.

Meanwhile, holy hell. I have been watching David Attenborough's Life in the Freezer. There's a valley in Antarctica, completely bare of snow, that is the most arid place on earth. It hasn't rained or snowed there in centuries. Any precipitation would quickly evaporate anyway. The wind through the valley is so dry it sucks up any moisture present. He passed the mummified remains of a crabeater seal, 70 miles from the shore. It was perfectly preserved. Attenborough comments in passing that it's probably about three. Thousand. Years. Old.

I'm still freaked. Seriously, seriously freaked. (Checking prices to Antarctica too, but mostly freaked.) Oh, carnivorous ducks too. Not in the Valley of the Freeze-Dried. But, ducks. Carnivorous. SOOOO CUUUUTE!!!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Timelies.

Thanks! It neatly sums up how I'm feeling right about now.

Now tagless for your comfort.

In related news, I just learned the ASL sign for "lesbian." I'm not sure if I should be offended or not. You make an "L" with your right hand and put the webbing between your thumb and forefinger under your lower lip, palm on chin.

They do say the best signs are easy to remember.

(pictures people all over the US sitting at their computers doing this)

HA! I so did this!

(now pictures about half of them wiggling their tongues)

Of course I did this, too.

My throat is hurty this morning. Feh. However, since the boy slept for 8 hours straight, that makes up for it.

Deena and Perkins, insent.

Cash, I so did that too.

Anne, I feel the same way right now, which is probably why I like it.

Mostly lurking...

Question for Jen and/or Val: what's the name of the owner type person at Judy Jetson that does such fabulous work? I needs me a haircut.

Nora, I don't go to Judy Jetson's, I go to Liquid (in the South End). The owner there is Camille, and she rocks.

Nora, I also go to Liquid and see Camille. And as Jen said, she truly rocks. Their website is here: [link]

Timelies! Today is curtains day. Yay!

But first? Coffee.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The accounting firm I used to work for was doing an audit of the NSF, and one of our partners got to go on a site visit to the Antarctica research statement. Jealous.
