[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It apparently stretches all the way to New Zealand.
Stretch stretch stretch. Nope. Still doesn't look right, even after confirming the spelling.
Deena, you guys are seriously bogarting teh cute. Please, stop before we all die.
Okay... trying. It's a little difficult.
My mom called to say that my dad had a TIA this morning--he woke up having trouble speaking, and he says he could remember the names of all his children and our spouses, but couldn't name his grandchildren--he could picture faces, but not names. So they took him to the hospital, but couldn't find any evidence of a stroke on the CAT scan, and sent him home. He's going to see his regular doctor tomorrow. He's had a TIA once before, 5-6 years ago.
He sounded fine on the phone, but I hate these reminders of his mortality.
I'm trying to come up with a sports metaphor where you can be formally ahead, but are still in serious trouble with a good chance losing the match. Maybe there was a boxer or other martial artist famous for letting people get ahead on points and then knocking them unconscious. Or manybe there is an equivalent in football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey or other major sport.
Trivial query cross-posted with Susan. That is so scary Susan. I'm sure stuff will work out, but still extremely nervewracking.
Much ~ma for your dad, Susan. What is a TIA?
Transient ischemic attack. It's a brief period of lack of oxygen to an area of the brain, but unlike a stroke, it's "self-limiting" and reverses itself without using a drug to dissolve a clot.
Susan, lots of ~ma headed your dad's way.
