I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

I think during one 14 period (parts of '93 and all of '94) Scott and I went to something like a 9 weddings including our own. I was in one of them. I think he was in two. I might not be remembering them all. We went to one, the weekend after we got back from our own honeymoon.

Because books.

Anyone want a Rent-a-Kristin? I have many skills.

Did you think about tutoring? At least you could set your own hours, use your skills, and it might bring in at least a bit of extra cash every month.

But I would totally hire you for the head rub. I so need to be knocked unconconscious lately.

Deb, I'm so sorry about Chino. Peace to you and Nic.

Mostly lurking...

Is it wrong that I always pronounce this as "vee-dub" in my head?

Nope. Much better than dubya, in my opinion :).

I've been to BJ's, the mall and gotten dinner. Is it bedtime yet?

Hugs to Deb and Nic.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Annabel did the wakey thing again last night. DH called the triage nurse this a.m., and it looks like we're dealing with night terrors. Oy. But she gave us a few suggestions. From our description of her sleep habits, the nurse thought she was a little sleep-deprived, so we're to try to get her down a bit earlier and encourage longer naps. Also, night terrors come from a problem transitioning between deep sleep and REM sleep, so we're supposed to interrupt her sleep cycle a little in hopes of resetting it--i.e. put her down about three hours before we go to bed, and then just shake her lightly awake right around our bedtime.

The bright side, such as it is, is that though she may suffer from these for years, it's unlikely to be night in, night out. One of the nurse's kids had them, and she'd have them every night for a week or two, then none for two years.

I'm getting the pig!

Is it bedtime yet?

Oh dear, I hope not. I'm really not looking forward to another sleepless night due to this stupid cold. Plus, the later it gets, the less people there are for me to talk to.

Deb, much ~ma to you. Peace to Chino. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet her.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Susan, that sounds like what my daughter went through as a child. I didn't know what it was and never thought to ask. It was horrible. And it didn't stop until she was probably around 5-6.

If I only had a brain...

Thanks very much, Jilli; sorry I missed your reply.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Quick passage to Chino, and my thoughts with Deb and Nic.

Damn, I really want to hire Kristin to do something. Too bad I got my hair cut or I'd have her put it up.

I'm back from Coach's Clinic. It was from 9-4, with a pizza break in the middle. They brought in a guy who has coached everything from 4 y.o's (at special baseball summer camp programs) through the college level. He was really good - enthusiastic, well spoken, not only completely steeped in baseball, but a near inexhaustible wealth of coaching techniques from the most basic to the most sophisticated. Ya gotta like competence.

I presume JZ and Emmett are out skating (or watching Vin Diesel wrangle kids), but since she left her phone I have no idea when they'll return.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I presume JZ and Emmett are out skating (or watching Vin Diesel wrangle kids), but since she left her phone I have no idea when they'll return.

They stopped by the bar, and got in a conversation with this fluglehornist from Sweden, but they still would have been home on time, except then the miniature ship-builder from Ocala came in (he doesn't build miniature ships; *he* is miniature and builds full-size ships) with a one-eyed toucan on his shoulder, and you know he's got interesting stories. Not to mention Buster. The master of interpretive dance who only speaks words without the letter E.

So they're running a little late.
