Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

these kids are going to have to go into Depends before they're old enough to potty train.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Am I being unreasonable for being pissed that they couldn't bother to unplug themselves from the video game to get ready in time for a get-together that had been planned for two weeks?

Nope. I'd be mad.

The status is NOT quo.

Jilli, feh. That's all I can muster right now. FEH.

You are not the unreasonable one in this scenario.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That does seem rather rude, Jilli. You bothered to organize your day so that you could meet up with your friend and her fella. It seems the least she could do is do the same for you, especially since she wants your opinion on something. It seems like she has a certain basic lack of regard for your time.

I wasn't aware admitting to being a slug justifed much of anything that inconveniences others.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

For what it's worth, Jilli, I would've unleashed a big "You lazy sacks of shit! Get the fuck in the shower and get over here now. You're the one that wanted this dinner and for us to meet NewBoy."

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm hoping I get over the miffed-ness before I talk to her to re-schedule dinner. I know I have to explain to her that her actions annoyed me, but I'm pretty sure she'll think I'm overreacting.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Now, I need to know. Am I being unreasonable for being pissed that they couldn't bother to unplug themselves from the video game to get ready in time for a get-together that had been planned for two weeks? Because I'm STILL kinda mad about it.

Nope. This is the part where you take her aside and quietly explain that this sort of thing can get to be a bad habit, and that perhaps next time, an alarm should be set so that getting off the couch and into the shower can happen. Last-minute plan changes should have more reason behind them than just a shiny, shiny XBox.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

sSusan, what do you all pay for diapers at Costco? Is it really cheaper than the sales?

I'm easily distracted today....

Jilli, you have every right to be miffed. And if she thinks you're overreacting, ask her how she would have handled the situation.
