I'm hoping I get over the miffed-ness before I talk to her to re-schedule dinner. I know I have to explain to her that her actions annoyed me, but I'm pretty sure she'll think I'm overreacting.

Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Now, I need to know. Am I being unreasonable for being pissed that they couldn't bother to unplug themselves from the video game to get ready in time for a get-together that had been planned for two weeks? Because I'm STILL kinda mad about it.
Nope. This is the part where you take her aside and quietly explain that this sort of thing can get to be a bad habit, and that perhaps next time, an alarm should be set so that getting off the couch and into the shower can happen. Last-minute plan changes should have more reason behind them than just a shiny, shiny XBox.
sSusan, what do you all pay for diapers at Costco? Is it really cheaper than the sales?
I'm easily distracted today....
Jilli, you have every right to be miffed. And if she thinks you're overreacting, ask her how she would have handled the situation.
For what it's worth, Jilli, I would've unleashed a big "You lazy sacks of shit! Get the fuck in the shower and get over here now. You're the one that wanted this dinner and for us to meet NewBoy."
The reason I didn't is because she *constantly* runs at least 45 minutes to an hour late, and I was hungry. I didn't want to have to wait another two hours or more for food.
I must also admit that I am pre-disposed not to approve of NewBoy, as she met him at a Camarilla convention. They've been having a long-distance email relationship because their live-action roleplaying characters met, which triggers my "Run the FUCK away, friends don't let friends date in the Cam" knee-jerk reaction.

Aimee, I've been pricing them at Costco, and it worked out to about 13 cents a diaper. I've been able to find them at the same price point at Babies-R-Us, if coupons are taken into account.
(We were considering re-joining Costco, but the savings wasn't enough to make it worth our while.)
Yeah, I got a bunch of coupons from eBay and our grocery store doubles them up to a dollar so if I hit the sales....

I don't have a receipt handy at the moment, but IME they're several dollars cheaper for the big boxes than Safeway ever is, even with a sale. And they're always that cheap, so you don't have to time your shopping by sales.
Of course, I'm Costco's bitch in general. If it were just the diapers, I might not bother, but it's also formula, wipes, a lot of our staple food items, basic clothes for the whole family, etc.
Answering your incessant questions, little one.
You got that right.
I've been buying the Target brand "premium" diapers (the non-premium ones have sucky tabs), and they're fine for us. I think they're...$6.50-ish for the regular size pack? We don't have Costco (we have B.J.'s), but I can't get my butt over there often enough to compare.
I should add, that's the size 3 pack of 40 or so -- the jumbo pack of 80 is $10-something, I believe.
Am I being unreasonable for being pissed that they couldn't bother to unplug themselves from the video game to get ready in time for a get-together that had been planned for two weeks?
Not. At. All.
I'm mad on your behalf.
This type of thing would pre-dispose me to dislike the new BF, as well.
I'm judgemental like that.
I'm shaky with fatigue and can't focus. Dammit. My office was supposed to have a working lunch, adn the pizza got here late, and I was shaking with hunger before it got here (I even ate an apple in the meantime) and then it got here and it was pzza, so that didn't do much to stabilize blood sugar.
I just feel like shit, and have felt like shit all week.
