Many a morning at 5:30 a.m., I just sit in a drowsy haze on the floor with Owen while he plays around my slumping body. Damned if I can figure out how we got such a morning baby.

It's raining here, which is great, as it provides me hope that March flowers may soon be on the way. It was sunny and 64 when school let out.

I'm going to dye my hair, because it is that washed out red that I get, and roots paired with my hair's general air of lifelessness leaves me hating myself when I catch sight of myself in a mirror at school. I SHOULD get a trim, but since I shouldn't have even bought the dye on my budget, no trim for me. I hope the deep cpnditioning and the hair dye will do enough to save me from total bad hair meltdown.

DH is usually trying to grab a few more hours before he goes to work. Although I've been known to give Owen a bottle in the recliner--he drinks while I doze. It's amazing how many tasks can be done on autopilot.

Good thing he's still taking his morning nap, else I'd be wrecked. I need to learn to sleep the same 9 hours he sleeps at night. Even if it means going to bed at 9 p.m.

I just can't do that. Especially with the big boys, who don't go to bed till after that most nights. And I have to write when Sara's asleep. I don't go to bed till midnight most nights, and even if I *didn't* have work to do, I'd feel totally cheated if Stephen and I didn't get a few hours alone in the evening.

This is a lot of the reason I don't go to bed early. I'd hardly ever see my husband. I'm pretty high functioning on 5 hours or so of sleep, which is good. Not sure how I'll handle another baby, though (when the time comes).

Oh, it was, it was!

The rain is over, but I love the shushing sound cars make as they go by on the street. And my hair is cooking to a nice bright red shade, and as soon as I am done washing the dye out, I am going to have a nice soothing meal of mac and cheese, which I had a sudden desire for today.

To dye, to cheese, to dream -- ay, only if I had a neck rub!

Not sure how I'll handle another baby, though (when the time comes).

This is one of the reasons ours are so far apart. I'm great with one baby (and I can function well on very little sleep, too) but two babies? Or one in diapers, and a baby? Uh-uh. I know my limits, oh yes I do.
