Apologies to anyone who's a boss, but I'm going to vent. It's not intended as a slam on ALL bosses; I'm sure the people here who are bosses are very good.
*My* particular boss, though -- incompetent!boss -- is going to get punched in the throat, and by me, if he doesn't stop this shit. He's trying to blame ME for something that HE didn't do. He even asked me to print out all my e-mail on the issue, so that he could "trace the problem to its source."
The thing that he didn't do is something that lies squarely within his responsibilities, and I told him so. I also told him that if I need to start taking over duties that he does, we're going to have to sit down and re-evaluate my position here.
His response: "I'm not pointing fingers here; I just want to see what your e-mails say so that I can see where the problem occurred."
I suggested he double-check his OWN e-mails on the issue, and he said "Oh, I never e-mailed [person] about this -- I assumed she knew what needed to be done on this."
Arrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh!!!! How does he not see, by SAYING that, that the problem occurred when HE didn't tell the person in question what needed to be done?!?!?!?
My responsibility was to provide a file to someone. Which I did. It got put in the wrong place on our Website, and fixing that apparently cost us a couple hundred dollars. It got put in the wrong place on the Website because our Web person misunderstood where it was to go.
Let me reiterate this: incompetent!boss said to me, flat-out, that HE DIDN'T TELL HER WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO. And yet he's implying that the problem originated with me sending her the file, because apparently I should have told her where to put the file.
(1) I am NOT doing your job for you, jackhole.
(2) You are NOT going to put the blame on me for something that you admitted you did!
(3) I'll tell you where to put the article, you great gaping jackhole.
Today is also my best friend from high school's birthday.
And, I believe, CIndy's. Happy birthday, Cindy!
A very good day to ebe Bitches' Day, my new favorite holiday, barely edging out Pie Day.
Heh. Without even click on Tom's link, I knew it would be medical journalism jobs in NYC. Tom ROOLZ.

Yeah, that made me smile. {{{Steph}}} I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. What a PitA!
-t, I think Cindy's birthday is tomorrow. I think. But, I could be wrong.
Is this the boss with the weird consumptive strep thing?
I am so thankful I have such a great boss. She totally goes to the mat for all of us.
OTOH, doing so burns her out to a huge degree and I'm afraid she's going to quit. She gets so much pressure from all sides. She worked her way up from the bottom rung of this office, and wants to help us out as much as possible. This is so awesome and rare, but I am afraid it may kill her, mentally.
t Makes note to bring boss pie soon
t or cupcakes
Tom rocks.
Today is also the 60th anniversary of my maternal grandparents' wedding. I'm pretty damn happy for them.
Is this the boss with the weird consumptive strep thing?
Oh, god no. That's Big!Boss, who is still in the hospital in St. Louis, and is likely to be there for at least another month. They can't even do a skin graft until he's stable, and right now his body is still way too traumatized from the infection and from having all the skin on the underside of his arm removed. He's still on a ventilator and is heavily heavily sedated for the pain.
Though it seems like, long-term, he's going to make a full recovery. It's just going to be a long sloooooow road to get there.
I think I'm starting to plan a trip to Chicago for my break between summer session and the start of the fall semester. I'm getting very excited about the prospect. I haven't been back since the December after I moved.
